A Modern “Nerd”sery

My husband and I had a great time designing this nerdy nursery for our soon-to-arrive little girl. With Star Wars, Doctor Who, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Star Trek, Ghostbusters, Firefly, Harry Potter, Wonder Woman, Robot, Dragon, Marvel, Monster, Dog, Lego, and Dinosaur details, we infused this room with as much of ourselves as we possibly could, while keeping it modern and classic.
We are so in love with this space and hopefully it will be a room that can grow with our little girl.

Pink, Grey and Navy Nursery

Raegan’s nursery is a girly mixture of pink, grey, and navy with lots of patterns of chevron and polka dots.

Gender Neutral Nursery for Twins, Woodland Glam

I wanted to create a woodland nursery, but wanted it to be more sophisticated and of course gender neutral. I fell in love with gold rub and buff and realized how easy it is to make anything inexpensive look a little more upscale (even plastic!). I was definitely sticking to a tight budget so I DIY’d as much as possible and working in a tiny space for twins.

Girly and Floral Big Girl Room

I couldn’t find any bedding that I loved enough for my daughters room. I didn’t want to paint and I wanted to keep her black furniture from her nursery, along with some wall hangings and lamps so I needed to find something that incorporated all those colors. I found one option but it was unavailable so I decided if I can’t find what I want, I’m just going to make it. B had this Matilda Jane Platinum top that I fell in love with and it dawned on me that I should try and use that as inspiration for her room. So using her top inspiration I decorated a floral and girly room for my daughter. I added a lot of little personal touches and ended up doing a lot of DIY projects. Scanning the aisles of Michael’s can sometimes be a dangerous thing ;)

Yellow & Gray Arrow Baby Boy Nursery

This room started as a second floor landing…not a room at all! When planning for our second baby boy we knew adding a room would add value to our house and be more functional for us. When it was originally renovated, the small room at the top of the stairs was removed so we just put it back.
A deep grey, arrows, antlers, geometric shapes, and a pop of yellow was the theme, so I got paint on the wall and went from there. The back wall features a paint-pen arrow design that is mimicked in the leading on the transom windows.
I tired to use what we could from our first baby, but did buy a few new things like the Urban Outfitter’s side table, the Jenny Lind crib, the inexpensive barn light from Home Depot, and the under-crib baskets from Crate & Barrel.
The big orange chair was repurposed as well as almost all the shelving and frames. The new closet, well in our case the changing space, features a refinished dresser and some new floating shelves from Lowes.
It’s a small room but it meets our needs perfectly. In the future it can be used as an office or kids room. It’s sunny and cozy and we love it! Baby boy seems to love it too.

Victoria’s Pink and Gray Nursery

I always thought that if I had a baby girl i wouldn’t make a nursery that was overly girly. As I started to design her nursery, I couldn’t help but help but gravitate towards everything girly!

Jaycie’s Girly Peach, Gray and White Nursery

Sweet peach….it’s a girly room with soft gray walls, white linen, and peach accents. It was a DIY project and a labor of love for the entire family…my husband and I hand painted all the furniture (except crib), and I handmade the chandelier and mobile.  My 13 year old daughter and I made the photo frames and other accessories.

Woodland Vintage Nursery

I wanted something with a vintage feel and plenty of heirloom pieces.  I tried to avoid anything too theme-like but couldn’t resist the charm of little woodland creatures.

Sweet Lavender & Mustard Nursery

A sophisticated, yet soothing nursery for our second daughter. Early on, I chose a color palette of Mustard, Lavender and Gray. It was a fresh combination for a sweet girl’s nursery.

Elegant Pink & Grey Nursery

Designed this nursery for our 1st baby…and IT’S A GIRL!  I wanted a traditional, vintage style that creates a soothing atmosphere.  I wanted to include DIY pieces that would add a personal touch mixed with new pieces to fit the vision for a unique and comforting nursery :)

Sweet DIY Pumpkins fit for a Nursery

Just a cute little DIY project to keep me busy while waiting for baby’s arrival.  I wanted to add some fall décor to the space while still staying within the color scheme.  I decoupaged one of the pumpkins and the others I adorned with ribbon/rick rack.

Colorful Gender Neutral Nursery

This nursery was designed for our son or daughter – who we are expecting to arrive in early October! The nursery is full of colorful textiles, DIY projects and sentimental reminders of good times my husband and I have had together as a family of two!
