Girly Glam Toddler Room

When asking my almost-3-year-old what she wanted her room to be made into from her nursery, she told me a gold princess room! I didn’t want to do the usual little girl princess thing, and definitely wanted to make her room last her for several years.  I had been seeing these gold wallpaper walls on pinterest and fell in love, but our walls are textured and wall paper wasn’t an option.  So, I tried to find how to DIY a gold glitter wall.  No such luck, so I decided to try out my own way to do a gold glitter wall.  Through much trial and error, the gold glitter wall turned out perfect (well, with some touching up still to do) but she absolutely loves it.
The wall is a focal point for her room, and we pretty much planned everything else around it.  It will probably have to be retextured, so I really hope gold stays in style for a long while! I wanted to make her room feel girly without making it little girly, if that makes sense.  Much of the decor was transferred/painted from her nursery and tied into her “big girl room” by just painting!
The chalkboard is a special touch that I love, because this is the chalkboard I used to track my pregnancy with her by pictures each week as my belly grew with her growing inside. My husband made me this chalkboard a little before I even knew I was pregnant, to track our Great Dane’s monthly pictures.  It then turned into weekly growth pictures.  It is such a sweet reminder to see it hanging, and her drawing circles and stick people on it.
I wanted to create a space that she could play in, a place for her to go when she wants to draw and read; and I think this area is already loved!  If only we could keep her sister from having chalk for a snack!  This room was a labor of love….and lots and lots of gold glitter!

Baby L’s Pink and Gray Nursery

We wanted a calm, soft space with some old and new elements mixed in. The room features some vintage blankets, hints of metallics, retro starburst mirrors, and lots of fluffy white and sheepskin!

Liesl’s 5th Birthday – A Wild Safari Expedition

Liesl absolutely LOVES animals, so we decided that a Wild African Safari would be the perfect theme for her 5th birthday.  Her only request was “live animals”, and we found a great non-profit to give the party goers a fun and and education exotic animal show and Liesl was their special assistant.

Jaycie’s Girly Peach, Gray and White Nursery

Sweet peach….it’s a girly room with soft gray walls, white linen, and peach accents. It was a DIY project and a labor of love for the entire family…my husband and I hand painted all the furniture (except crib), and I handmade the chandelier and mobile.  My 13 year old daughter and I made the photo frames and other accessories.

Kalia’s dress up party was so much fun! She had a wonderful time and guests loved rummaging through the dress up trunk and taking funny photos in front of the confetti wall backdrop!

Emmalyn’s Bright & Bold Nursery

I am not a big fan of pastel colors so I wanted something bright and fun for Emmalyn’s nursery. Her nursery is a pretty small room so I also needed to be extra creative with the space. I even took the closet door off and hung a curtain there instead to gain a few extra feet of space!

Bella’s Blissful Space

I wanted to give my first born a classic, feminine nursery with some modern touches.  I didn’t want to use a theme or be stuck with décor that I couldn’t reuse later on. I had so much fun finding items for Bella’s nursery, whether that be scoring great deals at Homegoods or using things I already had in other areas of my home.  Her room was made with a lot of love.

Charlie’s Baby Shower

When we found out we were having a little girl our wheels instantly started turning thinking about how her shower would be. Girly shabby chic has always been something that inspires me when I think of little girls.

DIY, Handmade (mostly), Budget-Friendly Nursery

This project was mostly DIY/handmade/repurposed.  I made all of the bedding, the curtains, the changing table cover, the artwork, and recovered the glider and ottoman.  My husband stripped, repainted and changed the hardware to the 2 secondhand dressers I found.  It was a lot of work, but we love the results.
