A Cub’s Personal Savannah

The couette cover represented a Family of giraffes, so we decided on  painting the sky  and the trees to create an open sky, savannah effect. We add some decals of savannah animals, a wooden giraffe and a few other items to bring everything together. We added the circular red mat to just pop some madness in there and get away from the safe coordinating colours and as usual for some reason the madness always works. We then added some red siblings in the form of the baskets etc.

Gray and Yellow Vintage Plaid Nursery

I bought the crib and the dresser online on a site similar to Ebay. The closet I bought on a flea market. At first I wanted a blue with yellow room (we knew it was a boy) so I searched for blue or yellow furniture. When I found the yellow furniture I was immediately sold.  We changed rooms at 8 month’s pregnancy and we had had already decorated the wall of this room with a gray plaid wallpaper. So the combination of yell0w and gray was born.

Evia’s Vintage Glam Circus Nursery

This is a Pinterest nursery if there ever was one! I took several different ideas that I loved and combined them to create a fun, girly circus theme for our new baby girl, Evia. In the last month of my pregnancy, I was nesting like a mad woman! I ended up making or altering the majority of things in the nursery. To be truthful, it’s now my favorite room in the house…I’m wondering why I haven’t put this much work into the rest of the rooms!

An Infants Private Playground Nursery

We redecorated a spare bedroom and transformed it into a Nursery. The room was previously used by young family members whenever they came to visit. They painted, drew, wrote and scribbled on all the walls. Using them as their own personal canvases to express their artistic personalities. With our permission, of course. Once we found out we were pregnant we begun to brainstorm ideas and scoured the Internet for inspiration. The video linked below highlights the transformation from a crayon crime scene into the infants private playground its become. The before and after.

Simple Chic Secret Passage

We had so much fun designing a simple, modern, gender neutral nursery. With a gray foundation to work  from, we knew it would look great with any blue or pink accents that might come our way after baby was born.  Today, we have a beautiful two-month old girl who loves the bright and cheerful room whether she is getting her diaper changed or sitting in the rocking chair listening to her favorite stories.

A Girl’s Safari

Here is the nursery that my husband and I did for our daughter.  I picked the color before we even got pregnant thinking it could work for a boy or a girl.  I ordered the tree decals off Etsy and the two of us painstakingly glued them leaf-by-leaf to the walls.  Then I picked all the furniture and I thought a bright white would be best for the small space.  Once we found out it was a girl I was able to add all the girly touches and really pull the whole room together.  I think it came out even better than I imagined and I’m grateful to have such a handy husband to help with all the technical stuff.  I’m sure Lily will appreciate her ceiling fan, shelves and all the added storage in her closet for years to come!  :)
