Girls Nursery: Light & Airy Woodland Theme

Originally aiming for a gender neutral theme, I couldn’t help but throw several feminine touches to my daughter’s nursery. After gathering “girls woodland theme nursery” inspirations from Pinterest, my first purchase for her room was the Crate & Barrel Little Fawn Baby Quilt. I used the quilt to guide my vision for the entire room. I purchased and printed the adorable baby animals above her crib from The Crown Prints, and selected ones with flower crowns to keep the theme going from the quilt. I incorporated the soft pink trim from the quilt throughout the room with the mobile, storage baskets, throw pillow and blanket. There are a few gold/brass splashes on the quilt, so I decided to go with all gold/brass finish hardware–including the closet door knobs, picture frames, curtain rods, end table, lamp and mirror–which added a fun pop to the room.
Gender neutral? I think this nursery has potential for an easy swap of soft pinks and flowers to deep blues/greens and more of that woodland feel I was originally looking into!

Yuki’s Woodland Nursery

We are expecting our first child and it’s a girl. We just moved into an apartment with a second bedroom and we were thrilled that we would be able to decorate a nursery. Crafting is a hobby of mine so I definitely knew I wanted to take a very DIY/hands-on approach to designing and decorating our baby’s room, while staying on a budget. I think our style and personality are reflected here. Hope you like it!

Baby L’s Budget Forest-Woodland Nursery

This nursery is for my 3rd baby, gender unknown. We were on a tight budget so we got what we could for free or cheap, and I made some items. The brick wallpaper was already in the room, we originally purchased for around $30 from Walmart. The four woodland canvases were dollar store canvases painted with dollar store paint, and decorated with felt scrapbooking stickers (total cost approx $14) Crib bedding is Litto Kids, purchased from Amazon.com with Swag Bucks (so free, but regularly $270) Wall Decal was also from Amazon.com & purchased with Swag Bucks (so free, but regularly $54) Mobile is by Djecko, and was purchased from Dandelionkids.ca ($30) Crib was an Ikea handmedown, refinished & Distressed with baby spray paint for about $20 dresser/change area was found at the side of the road, boxes were from ikea for about $7 each (using to store clothes/diapers etc) Rocking chair/purple pillows/teddy are vintage/family heirlooms, blue pillow is Ikea ($10) Blue burnout fabric was from a discount store, approx $10 Framed scrapbooking paper ($1 paper/$5 frame from Ikea As-Is) Curtains were from another room, originally Walmart for around $20 I believe. Rocking horse is a handmedown from Baby L’s brothers :-) We still need to get the new light fixture, but it’s not in the budget just yet!
