Woodland Girl’s Nursery in Mint, Coral, and Gray

I’m not an overly “girly girl,” so when I found out we were having a girl, I knew I didn’t want her nursery to drown in hot pink and vibrant purples. I also knew I wanted to stay far away from princess and fairy tale themes. So I decided to use gentle, soothing colors like mint, coral pink, and light gray. My husband and I also love the outdoors, so I thought a woodland themed nursery might impart some of this love of nature to our daughter.
I started first with trying to find crib sheets that would work with the colors and theme. It was really hard to find feminine woodland themed prints, as most are very boyish or in mostly dark greens and browns. Most of the feminine ones I saw were the colors I mentioned earlier that I wanted to avoid. Fortunately I discovered Lolli Living and their “Sparrow” nursery line. I loved the colors, and the theme was spot on! From here, finding matching pieces was fairly easy, and you will see I really lucked out between Target and Etsy.
I absolutely adore this nursery and how it turned out. It is my first decorating project, and I’m happy to know that my daughter has a beautiful, peaceful place to sleep and grow!

Baby H’s Neutral Nursery with Pops of Color

When I started to plan my baby girl’s nursery, I was not sure where to begin or what I had pictured for her.  I knew I wanted a room with serene neutral walls with pops of color that could represent her vibrant personality.  After 9 gray paint samples on the wall (there really are 50 shades of gray), I finally chose the winner and got to painting still without a final image in my head of how it would all turn out. I decided on stripes for one wall because I had seen so many pictures of nurseries with stripes and just fell in love.  Two words: Frog Tape! It took one day to get those stripes perfected.  After that, I just slowly started buying pieces I loved centered around the bedding I picked out and it all came together with hints of coral, mint, and gold.

Coral, Lemon and Mint Girl’s Nursery

Leah’s nursery can be described as an eclectic mix of soft colours for the most precious blessing and miracle…
I’m not a “pink mom”, so needed to create a space that was special and pretty, without being too pink and over the top. I didn’t initially have a clear picture in mind, which was challenging at times, but as soppy as it sounds, I guess love guided me.
I knew the essential elements that I wanted and saved for those so that they could be the best I could afford. I also wanted a practical space, which I achieved by adding a daybed into the bay window that we added to make the room a little bigger. This will eventually be her bed when she is older, but also means that if I need I have a place to sleep during midnight mayhem.
Once the main items were in (daybed, cot, chest and rocking chair), I spent months adding little pieces here and there and the project grew with my pregnancy. It was an emotional and amazing feeling when the room was finally finished, although you don’t see the mosquito net that was too late by the time these pictures were taken.
The main items are also neutral enough to suit a boy’s nursery in case Leah has a brother in the future.

Harper’s Mint, Pink and Coral Vintage Chic Nursery

A mint, pink and coral vintage chic nursery for our baby girl Harper. After going into preterm labor unexpectedly and delivering at 27 weeks, life was became a bit chaotic. Creating a beautiful nursery became the one thing I felt could still turn out as planned. After visiting my baby girl in the NICU, I would come home and paint (and paint, and paint), plan, and work on things to create a lovely room for her to come home to. It was my therapy.
