The playroom I created for my son is a place where he can explore , use his imagination and just have fun!

This nursery is for my son Levi and it was so much fun to plan and decorate this special room for him!

This nursery was designed and decorated not knowing the gender of our baby. We used various shades of grey with splashes of bright yellow to make the room lively and inviting.

Oh what fun! I am so glad to be here today sharing photos from my latest project, baby Victor’s nursery. The space feels so airy, but cozy. There is a beautiful texture wall made from wood and white 3D wall tiles. A little bit of green, some gray and a touch of red brings life to the space. The room is a continuation of the design style of my home. But here it has a whimsical feel. With lion and horse figures, animal art prints, and a fox decal, this nursery is a woodland heaven.

This is the nursery that I created for my son Emerson.  Only a few items were purchased brand new; most were hand made by family and friends or refinished by me.

A relaxing peaceful little boy’s nursery

We turned our sunroom into a playroom for our one year old son. Our goal was to do it on a budget yet add enough visual interest that our son would love playing in it… mission accomplished!

We wanted a modern and fun nursery for our little guy- something that could grow with him.  So we picked colors instead of a theme, found the gear crib bedding and fell in love, and had so much fun selecting pieces from there!

I knew from the beginning that our daughters room wasn’t going to have one specific ‘theme’.  We were also working on a pretty tight budget.  We bought our home a year ago and have been focusing on many other home improvements.  This room sat pretty much empty until a few months ago.  When we moved in we installed brand new carpeting but that was about it. Our first thing to tackle were the walls, the top half was covered with horrible wallpaper from the 80’s and unfortunately the previous homeowners didn’t prime the walls before gluing the wallpaper so if we took it down we would have had to hire a professorial to re-texture the walls which equaled lots of $$$.  So…we researched painting over it  (something I never thought I’d resort to) and it ended up turning out great.  We also took down the closet doors and painting all the dark oak trim a nice bright crisp white.

When I found out I was having a boy I was very excited for two reasons.  One reason is because I love little boys and the other reason was because we weren’t going to have to repaint our navy blue room!  I wanted the room to have lots of color and I loved the ideas of the ABC’s and some airplanes because my husband wants to be a pilot.  I had such a blast decorating and did most of it myself or had family help out to keep the costs down.  It is such a happy room and most of the decorations will grow up with him for several years to come.

My wife and I have a two bedroom home with a large loft that was ideal for a third bedroom. When we found out we would be bringing a little one home I was able to play the part of Dad and build a nursery. This was one of the most rewarding projects I’ve ever undertaken.

We just moved into our new house and found out we were expecting about a year later.  We had renovated the whole house and were so excited to redo a bedroom into a nursery!  For our son we wanted a modern yet playful design that didn’t scream “baby!” so it could grow with him as he grew and we wouldn’t have to update it right away.  Every time I sit in his nursery to feed him I feel happy and fulfilled.  It’s exactly as I could have imagined.

I wanted to design a nursery that would be a peaceful place for me to spend hours with our little girl–a space that was not too girly and pink and frou frou, but a more sophisticated room for a baby.  There’s definitely no mistaking that this room is a nursery, but hopefully one that will grow throughout the next few years with her.
