Twin Girls Modern Boho Neutral Sanctuary

We chose a modern, boho, femininely whimsical theme for our twin girls, Capri & Celine’s nursery. We wanted to incorporate modern elements such as the neon name signs and acrylic cribs with the feminine touches of the Anthropologie primrose mirror and the beaded chandelier while keeping true to a natural, bohemian aesthetic with the bouclé glider, area rug & beige/ivory/cream neutral color palette.

Modern Rustic Nursery

When I found out I was having a boy, I really had no idea what I would do for the nursery. Expecting to have a girl, my Pinterest was filled with floral wallpaper and pink everything. When I started looking at what style I wanted for  our baby boy’s nursery, I was slumped. I originally wanted to do blue wallpaper and keep it very gender neutral. After much contemplating, I realized wallpaper would probably not be the best idea since we are currently renting out house lol. I was back to square one.
I came across a photo on Pinterest that had a featured wood wall and I immediatly knew that’s what I wanted to do. Putting together the wall was actually kind of fun! I told my husband my vision and we worked together to make it happen. After the wood wall was put up, the rest of the nursery just kind of came to life. I decided I wanted to be more adventurous and add little pops of color. Getting the multi-colored rug was a little out of my comfort zone, but I LOVE how it ties the room together! This is definitely our favorite room in the house and I can’t wait to make so many memories in here!

Boho Chic Modern Gender-Neutral Baby Nursery

Given that we do not know the gender of our baby arriving this October 2020, we wanted to create a gender neutral room that was playful, full of light, and had lots of pops of colour that would allow our baby to explore and grow into the person they want to be! My husband and I are both outdoorsy people – so we loved bringing in plants into the room to add the fresh feel of being outside, indoors. Our advice for creating the perfect nursery is to pick an item that inspires you (ours was our nursery rug), and then go from there – start finding items that complement the item you want the room to be inspired by!

Harlow’s Vintage Glam Nursery

I have always dreamed of the day I’d be able to design a baby girl nursery. Honestly, I never thought I would actually see that day, so when we found out Harlow was a girl, my heart fluttered with the thought of creating the perfect nursery for her. My Pinterest board exploded with oodles of inspo pics and I knew from the beginning that I wanted a statement wall… one that would be a total swoon factor when you walked in… so that is where I started and the rest kind of flowed in from there, piece by piece. I mixed in lots of texture and pulled colors from the vintage floral wallpaper. I also made sure to incorporate pieces that would remind me of my grandma, who gained her angel wings while Harlow was in my tummy, such as the sprinkles of eucalyptus, the pampas with their “angel wing-like” vibe, and her favorite color, green. While I splurged on some pieces in the room, like the gold floral mirror, I also mixed in quite a bit of inexpensive items that really make the room come to life.

Isla’s Modern Boho Nursery

This was a project I was super passionate about. I knew right away what I wanted the space to look like, I wanted a modern boho-chic feel. Isla’s nursery is a layering of soft textures, clean-lined furniture, and feminine colors that create a modern bohemian retreat. I searched the internet high and low, and even Pinterest but didn’t find a whole lot of ideas out there. There are still some key pieces that I haven’t found yet. Like the rug or curtains. But for the most part the room feels complete for now. Those other pieces will come eventually. My biggest advice for moms is to purchase items you truly love and are versatile with the space. The glider we purchased from pottery barn kids, it  was a must have! It’s perfect for those late night feedings; and a mix of style and comfort. I tried so many different chairs but this one was by far my favorite. The quality is great and will last for years to come. The other key piece to any nursery is of course…the crib! When I set my eyes on this one: I thought it would be the perfect piece. I love that you can see baby from all angles and baby could also see you clearly without the bars blocking either of our views.  It really gave the nursery a modern feel. I added in elephants here and there throughout the room. I went with elephants only because they’re my favorite animal! 🐘 For the crib bedding I went with the organic west elm x pbk sheets. I have a few different prints. I’m obsessed with all of the really fun prints at Pottery Barn Kids. My favorite piece of the room would have to be the wall hanging. It really sets the tone for Boho-ness. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed the nursery reveal!

Contemporary Boho Chic Nursery

I wanted to create a dreamlike wonderland for my daughter’s nursery that incorporates contemporary elements of our modern home with boho chic. I knew I wanted a graphic wallpaper to anchor the room as a focal point, and off which the rest of the room could play off of. This incredible wallpaper by Ellie Cashman is both traditional and contemporary with it’s larger than life scale of florals and black background. It also provided the perfect accompaniment to the Lignet Roset couch I custom ordered in light pink and have been searching for an excuse to order! I felt it was important to incorporate elements into this room that I could see my daughter enjoying for years to come and I can really picture her as a small child playing on this couch with her friends and toys. The bookshelf and neon sign are also elements that I imagine will stay in her room with her until she’s grown. For a touch of whimsy, the room incorporates a mix of patterns and textures with the pillows, Modern Burlap crib sheets and the custom drapes made with Pierre Frey fabric. To compliment the contemporary, clean lines of the room, some more natural, boho chic elements were added like the feather mobile and cowhide with some metallic hints to bring them up to date and complete the look of the room. This is a room both baby girl and her mom can enjoy!
