DIY: Gumball Necklaces—Lovely and Yummy!

Beautiful chunky necklaces are very popular right now. Why not make one you can eat? They are super easy party favors, just detrimental to your middle! Make them fast, and you will be alright.

Here is what you will need:

1. Colorful gumballs
2. Ribbon
3. Metal skewers
4. Embellishments like flowers and ribbons (optional)

First take your metal skewer and puncture holes in your gumballs.

Next wrap the end of your ribbon with tape, and thread ribbon through the gumball.

Tie a knot and then thread another gumball. Continue until you’ve reached your desired length.

That’s it! You’re done. They are pretty as is, but I got these flowers from the Martha Stewart section of Michaels and attached them for extra embellishment. You can also tie a big ribbon bow on the side or add additional flowers.

The perfect edible party favors for your sweet little guests!

We made these recently and used an electric drill on slow speed, making the process a little faster. We sterilized the drill bit ahead of time. For the boys at your party use blues n greens and accent with plastic sharks or spiders or use shells if you have a beach theme.

This is a win! Great looking necklaces that does not cost you a lot and would surely be a hit with the kids. I was wondering if you could make the same for boys, only that you don’t make it into necklaces but something else?

Very fun and colorful. Not to mention it’s very easy to do. I have a suggestion, instead of doing these beforehand, why not let your little guests do it during the party?

    Tiffany,

Hi Tiffany, unfortunately you have to make them. It is not too hard if you get fresh ones. Just use a cork screw or metal skewer. If you want to purchase some for a party as favors, I know someone who makes them. I have a website (www.zookiskids.com) with other cool handmade party favors. Maybe it there is a lot of interest we can carry these as well :)

    Good Luck!

I purchased these from Amazon. You can also try Candy Wharehouse. They are both great sources for candy.

These flowers are the Martha Stewart ones from Michaels. They had a clip on the back so I just slid them on.

It looks like 3/8″ or 1/2″ ribbon to me, but I’m sure either would work.

We started off literally with, ‘one of each please.
In that conversation, you find out their strike pocket,
and appeal to that. Planting becomes less tedious because
you can now buy bags of seeds.

Amazing blog! Do you have any helpful hints for aspiring writers?

I’m planning to start my own website soon but I’m a little
lost on everything. Would you suggest starting with a
free platform like WordPress or go for a paid option? There are so many options out there that I’m completely confused ..
    Any tips? Thanks!
