I co-hosted a “sprinkle” last week for a dear friend who is expecting baby number three. Since she’s been around the block with the baby shower thing, we decided to break tradition and do something a little different. We honored her with an evening of beauty. Think hair styling, makeup application and brow shaping at a local San Francisco salon. Everyone had a wonderful kid-free time, catching up, giggling, eating/drinking and getting beautified. At the end of the evening, the guest of honor presented me with a darling hostess gift—this all occasion Jonathan Adler Card Set. I loved it so much that it got me thinking about great hostess gifts. It’s always a good idea to have some stocked and ready to go. I mean, if some brave soul is up for hosting my loud family of five, you bet I’m bringing something cute as a little thank you!
I’ve been on the hunt for a cute iPad case that will make me happy each time I pull out my tablet. Kate Spade always adds a little sunshine to life, and this rugby stripe iPad case fits the bill. I wish it came in yellow or pink, but black and white is classic.
I love anything monogrammed. These monogrammed plastic cups would add a little glamour to a backyard BBQ. Add the napkins, and you are really getting fancy!
A little bauble always gets a girl’s heart to skip a beat. These initial enamel bracelets from C Wonder are preppy chic and would look great layered with other pieces. What color would I pick?
Just a few gifts I’d love to give or receive! What hostess gifts are you in love with?

The thing with women is that it’s very easy to find lovely gifts for them (or us). Why? Because we love anything pretty! And there is so much prettiness in this world!

I agree with you, Diane! When buying gifts for ladies, there are just so many choices! But with men, I find it so hard to find the right gifts for them!
Anyway, for my three baby showers, I gave my bestfriend (who hosted/organized the party) a purse, then a very pretty jewelry box, and then pearl earrings. =)

I love giving embossers from PSA Essentials. They’re so classy!

It just really depends on what your hostess is interested in. My SIL hosted my first shower and she collects fountain pens. So you can guess what I gave her as a token of my gratitude.

I love these ideas! I come into many people’s homes to face paint. There have been times when bringing a gift for the mom would be very appropriate for all her efforts for her child’s party. Although, I’m just the face painter painting faces, but an unexpected gift helps to be remembered!

JUST a face painter? Don’t you know that you brought more fun to the parties you have been to? So don’t say JUST a face painter. :)
I agree with you on this Diane :) We know how to appreciate beauty, no matter where we see it!

Pam, this post pushed me to check out the other products in the Jonathan Adler line. And I was instantly awed by the items they have on their website!

You’re right, Frauline. It all boils down to what really your party host likes! If she hosts your showers and you host hers, then that means you two are close enough to know what each is interested in. I hosted countless showers for my bestfriends, and I always go home with a big smile on my face carrying their thank you tokens or gifts because I can tell they know me so well!
