Almost 3, London was still sleeping in her baby nursery and in her crib with the front taken off.  It was time for her to feel like a big girl!  With potty training underway and a new baby brother, we wanted to give her a fun space that had TONS of DIY and had a very small budget to do it!

Looks like you had so much fun decorating this room. You clearly went all-out! Normally, I’d say this room is just too overwhelming, but hey, this is a kid’s room, and we all know that the more elements you add to it, the more they like it. By the way, I really love those bird cages.

I tried to balance out the overwhelming gallery wall by putting nothing on the other side (the pink wall) and nothing on the wall of the window…I wish you could see the whole room together, it seems less overwhelming when you see it all together.

Wow!! So special! What an encouraging room to view as I am in the process of rdecorating 3 rooms for all my children:):) Looking at this and seeing that it can be done without a ton of money and just a creative individual mind gave me the get up and go I have needed!! Seeing your room made me say….”I know I can, I know I can!” Also, my daughter Cece is 11 and she is encouraged to want to help! She said, “Mom , I think I can be crafty!” Thank you for all the wonderful ideas we can fit into our budget!

Well you did say they were Olympic so maybe I can find the colors that way! Plus, if you used the Krylon yellow then that should be easy to find!

OMG. I am IN LOVE with this room. I’m trying to re-do my daughter’s room (she’s 2 and ready for a “big girl room”) and have something in mind but am fighting the urge to scrap that and use this room for inspiration! lol. My youngest daughter’s nursery is aqua, pink, and yellow. I’ve wondered what I would change when she’s ready for a toddler room- I love the idea of adding black and glam. Wow, I could go on and on. GREAT job!

      Ginny,

I am sure you are busy- but lots of us would love to know the brand and the mixing formula used for the paint on the blue walls- it is great! Maybe your paitn store kept a record for you- mine does that on an index card and in the computer by name and address. Thanks!

      March 15, 2012

I would love to share it with you, but I posted it on my blog and someone tried it and it came ou tincorrect…so I don’t feel comfortable posting it again bc I don’t want to tell people the wrong thing :) It was at walmart and they don’t keep records I don’t think bc I didn’t even give them my name…I went and looked for the paint sample to see if I coudl spot it but they were out of that color section! :(

I saw that you used the KRYLON spray paint — So I tried it; FAIL. After having so many issues with it, I looked up reviews to see if it was just me, but found a ton of others who had the same problem. If you can find the cans with the normal spray top, it’s fine… but they have a new “360 degree sprayer” on some of the cans and it is TERRIBLE. It literally ran down my arm more than it sprayed. When it sprayed it did in droplets, rather than the regular smooth spray that it’s supposed to.

Just thought I’d try to help! I looove love lovee this room, and can’t wait until my daughter’s room is finished! We are using your room as inspiration!

I love this! I showed it to my 3 year old daughter and she says she likes it but “I want it pink!” She’s obsessed with a pink room after visiting a friend… but I love how there are colors that are great for transitioning from a girl’s room to a big girl’s room as they continue to grow.

Hi Ginny, very beautiful bedroom..I really like the colors and the fact that it is girly without being tacky or too princess like…I am about to decorate my daughter bedroom and really love the blue wall BUT is it actually blue or turquoise? I have been looking for “the perfect blue” but it is hard to find exactly what I like…If you have the chance to answer that be great if not thank you anyway to share your work..
