Breathtaking room. I really love the vintage and shabby chic theme. My favorites are the scripture collage and the bird mobile.

Sweet and interesting details. The Lord’s Prayer vintage print is beautiful. Those DIY decor are really nice, too.]

WOW, I was praying for my daughter during a difficult time of her pregnancy and Zeph 3:17 is where I found great comfort that day!! Any chance your sweet friend would like to sell a reproduction of this amazing piece of art?

      Hi,

I am expecting my little one in August and LOVE all of the vintage elements in this nursery. I’m going for a similar vintage-feel, and I was wondering if you could give me more information on how you made the “Reading is Fun” book wreath. I also LOVE the Zeph collage and any tips on how to reproduce something similar would be great. Specifically, I was wondering what she collaged- I can see old book pages and sheet music, but what else is in the collage? And what is the bird and tree made of? Feel free to e-mail me. Thanks so much! I appreciate any tips!

      Meredith,

      Hi Meredith,
Here is a blog that has directions on how to make a book wreath that is similar to mine:

      http://lifefordessert.com/2011/11/21/how-to-make-a-book-page-wreath/

If you don’t want an opening at the center don’t cut a circle out of the center of your backing. Attach the book page “cones” all the way to the center. Then cover the center with whatever you wish!

My friend did use book pages, sheet music, hymns, scraps of paper, vintage greeting cards…whatever she felt went along with the theme. I believe the bird and tree are made of colored card stock from a scrap booking store. I know she stenciled the “damask” design directly over the collage before “aging” the entire piece with a watered down glaze finish. The final coat was a water-based sealant. Hope that helps!

Hi. I absolutely love your beautiful lamp.. Would you mind me asking where you got it from at all? I think my one on the way needs it in his/her life! x
