This nursery is extra special. After three years of unexplained infertility, two losses, and a round of IVF, we found out we were having a baby girl. The room started with the three rainbow watercolor prints by Ana Jones. We found work at a local art show right after our second loss. As tears run down my face as I write this, I loved the three pictures and knew my future baby had to have them in his/her room because that baby would be our double rainbow to our very long storm. I knew they would be over his/her crib despite what the room looked like.  I then found a vintage Broyhill dresser that set the mood for the room. I loved a blush, mustard, and green color scheme thanks to Pehr designs and their Lovely Llama mobile.  I also thought that mustard and green could be used for boys too, so if God gives us a boy next then all I would have to do it paint the walls. I could’ve gone a lot of directions with the room, but my friend Bre Bertolini had created this scallop wall in her girl’s room and I loved it. Then I knew she had to have velvet green curtains. Everything else fell in place.

I didn’t have a budget per se, but I am always cost-conscious. I wanted the West Elm x Pottery Barn crib but didn’t want to spend the money. Novogratz launched their furniture line around the same time and their crib was perfect. It was also more perfect since I could get it on Amazon with a gift card. Everything else was going to be brass from the beginning.

I wanted to share her nursery because I love it. It is my favorite room in our house. It is cozy, dramatic, and gorgeous to match the personality of our baby girl. I hope this nursery gives you some inspiration and gives you the courage to do something dramatic.

Congratulations on your rainbow baby! I love the scalloped wall detail. So pretty, as is the rest of the nursery! Thank you for sharing.
