In the Nursery with Shannon Willardson

We’re touring Shannon Willardson’s shared girls nursery for her two daughters today. The space is lovely and full of both boho and mid-century modern details—a great combo. We love how our two-tone Wooster Cribs look side by side under those matching pendants and paired artwork. Thank you for sharing, Shannon!

Hi! I’m Shannon Willardson, a fashion and lifestyle influencer based in the San Francisco area. I’m a special needs mama to two little girls with an extremely rare disease and to a spunky five-year-old boy who is the BEST big brother to his angel-sisters. My site and Instagram are a very real window into our family’s life (no sugar-coating over here!) and a place where I share products that I love.

Where did you pull inspiration for your nursery design?
Lots of places, but primarily Pinterest and Instagram!

What part of the design process did you enjoy the most?
I loved figuring out what I wanted the room to look like and then sourcing all of the perfect pieces to bring that vision to life!

What is your favorite part or detail in your nursery?

What is one thing that you would tell other parents to consider when starting their own nursery design project?
My advice would be to get a solid idea of the overall look you’re going for in the room BEFORE you start purchasing anything. This ensures that the pieces you buy for the room are cohesive and that all of your purchases are intentional. You won’t waste money on something that doesn’t end up being quite right for the look you were going for.
