Boy are Hayley’s kids lucky to have her for a mom. Not only is she a lovely person, she is a DIY genius! We are so proud to have her contributing over on Project Nursery. Take a look at this beautiful room she created for her five-year-old daughter chock-full of DIY projects that make this a unique and inspiring space for her daughter’s own creative endeavors (check out that painting!).
Let’s start with this showpiece of a bed. It looks like a custom piece costing who-knows-what from a store, when actually it’s a hand-me-down from Mom (and Dad), repainted and upholstered to look amazing and perfect for a big girl’s bedroom. Gorgeous.
Love the DIY pendant light and DIY sunburst mirror too!
This chore chart is a fun reminder of what your child is in charge of. What kid wouldn’t jump at the chance to add the star magnets each day? And see that blue stripe on the edge of the door? Washi tape, folks. Genius, right?
A basic clock is jazzed up with a hand painted floral pattern—did we mention Hayley is a talented muralist? And the DIY bean bag chair begs for some comfy reading time.
Can you believe this desk was a garbage day save? It’s a fun story. A pink desk was Hayley’s daughter’s only request, and I’m sure she was thrilled with the result. Love the drawer stripes and new drawer pulls.
The sweet DIY scalloped lamp calls back to the beautiful accent wall, and the feather garland adds a little eclecticism to the room.
Can we talk about that scalloped accent wall? Oh my gosh, I love it! With the perfect ombre color palette of blues, it adds a graphic statement while keeping things soft with the curved scallop.
You can find more details about the room and projects on Grey House Harbor. Be sure to check in with Hayley’s blog often because she is truly a prolific DIY-er, and you won’t want to miss out on what she shares.
