Happy Valentine’s Day! My name is Heather Nolting. I am an avid crafter, and love discovering creativity through DIY design projects. I would love to share this Valentine inspired project with you. I am a parent, Oncology RN, and blogger at a Touch of That. I am fond of both old and new traditions, and really felt inspired by the Froebel (also known as Danish or Scandinavian) Paper Hearts of the past for this project. With a little time and craft paper you can make these lovely little heart tags for a Valentine Day treat bag. Getting a handmade gift like this makes an impression, and lets the receiver know that they are cared about. These hearts are cost effective as they only require paper in the color of your choice.
I have made a FREE downloadable template to make hearts like the one’s seen in the photo. Simply cut the templates out in two contrasting construction paper colors of your choice, and weave them together.
If you have a CRICUT EXPLORE™, I have also supplied a free template, so that the machine can do all the cutting work.
Although we used this to adorn Valentine Day gift bags, they can also be used in other ways. It is not uncommon for others to use these during Christmas time, and hang them on Christmas trees.. Follow us on Instagram, and Facebook for more DIY inspiration. Happy Valentine’s Day to you! ~ Heather
