I couldn’t wait to create a nursery when I found out I was pregnant. I wanted calming neutrals with pops of robin’s egg blue. I wanted the room to have a mix of old and new pieces, and to incorporate furniture that looks old and worn but sophisticated. My husband and dad were a huge help painting and moving furniture around, and my mom and I had fun putting all the details together.

I really wanted beadboard so my sweet husband and my dad went to work and put up the paneling around the room. Then my husband and I painted the beadboard white and the walls a gray beige. One of the big inspiration pieces for this room was an antique looking iron crib. We already had some special pieces that were passed down from family. One of those was a dresser that belonged to my husband’s grandmother. The other piece was a shelf that has been in my grandmother’s home for many years. Both of our grandmother’s have passed away and I knew this would be the perfect way to incorporate them into Charlie’s nursery. I painted both of these with white chalk paint and distressed them.

My mom and I went to a flea market and had so much fun picking out some vintage elements. My mom found a vintage steiff bear and she also found a book of old French nursery rhymes. We also found the picture of the baby boy on the stairs with his puppy.

My sister gave me the “C” banner that added that pop of color I wanted, and my brother-in-law wrote a sweet poem for Charlie that sits on my grandmother’s shelf. As a shower gift, my mom gave me a shadow box with a toy soldier I drew when I was a child. There are so many fun details from many family members in this room.

And lastly, I wanted an antique armoire to utilize as storage. I found the perfect armoire on Craigslist that I knew I had to have. I used both grey and white chalk paint to bring out its beautiful detail.

Charlie’s nursery was truly a labor of love with so many fun details. It’s a special room that incorporates many family members that love this baby, and I look forward to sharing these details with Charlie as he grows!

I love the metal laundry hamper! Was it something you bought or a DIY? Thanks so much. Have a great day!

      Hi Morgan

The curtains are the Pom tassel curtains from Anthropologie. The lamp was a gift so I unfortunately don’t know where it is from but I know it was purchased online.
