So it’s a new year, and we’re sure many of you—like us—have announced this is the year to get more organized. (We confess we’ve made this resolution a few times.) Everybody knows having a schedule helps keep things organized, so we started looking for fun ways to incorporate calendars into children’s rooms. Not only does it help you remember important appointments, you can also mark holidays and dates for your little one to count down to as well as jot down important milestones as they happen.
This simple chalkboard wall calender has customizable day letters and decorative birds if you so desire.
This Bird on a Wire Calender provides twelve pops of color and adds a fun and decorative aspect into the room.
This Bergallo Waves Calender by Jonathan Adler is a wipeable white board allowing easy cleaning at each month’s end. We love the bright colors and the retro-inspired pattern.
For a more masculine option, we love Crispin Finn’s Year Planner, printed on 100% recycled, biodegradable white paper.
Sometimes we will forgo the functional for the adorable. We love this Cute Animal Calender; we’ll settle for just circling important dates with these adorable little creatures.
We hope these fun ideas will make it more exciting to try to make 2013 the most organized year yet.
*A fun project is to take a picture of the calender at the end of each month, capturing your children’s activities, and creating a photo book at the end of the year of all their activities.

The chalkboard wall calendar is pretty neat. I haven’t tried a chalk ink pen, but I think it’s really cool.

To be more organized and to be more adept at managing my time is always on my resolutions list every year. And I always end up not being able to achieve it :-(

Maybe this is your lucky year. Good luck!

The cute animal calendars are perfect for my girl, who’s just started learning about weeks, months and calendars in general.
