The holidays are over, and now it’s time to start redecorating for 2013! What better way to spruce up a room than to add a rug with some color and graphic impact. These new rugs from West Elm fit the bill.
I’m smitten with these dhurries for children’s rooms because they are reasonably priced and can take the rough wear of a child. This new collection of rugs uses three colors rather than two in West Elm’s previous collections. These dhurries now look more like those by Madeline Weinrib but for half the price. The colors in the Phoenix pictured above are almost identical to the Pink Westley by Madeline below with a very similar pattern.
Please note that the weave on the Madeline Weinrib rugs is tighter, which makes the rugs heavier and less likely to bunch—an issue that I find cumbersome with the West Elm dhurries. But if price is an issue, the West Elm version is a great alternative.

I hear 2013’s color is emerald green, so I’m surprised there are not emerald green rugs yet :(

Love the Abacus Dhurrie – Sand! I like the colors neutral so it doesn’t clash with the other decor details in the room.
