One of the most popular boy-themed baby showers is the “Ahoy It’s a Boy” theme. Think preppy meets nautical with a Ralph Lauren twist. We used classic colors in navy and red, and I like popping in powder blue and yellow accents.
I love using vintage pieces I have found at flea markets or have around the house. When designing a party, I like creating outdoor living spaces with what I already own and then accenting with specific decorations in my theme.
The nautical rope and a metal lantern spruce up the dessert table and can be used for baby room decor later. “Lifesaver donuts” are a fun treat to serve in place of a cake. Name desserts, drinks and food in fun nautical names to match the sailboat theme. Have fun with your theme!
Use striped treat bags for guests to take home leftover desserts and mini gable boxes for a fun little to-go favor. We included mini cork stopped bottles with a message from the mommy-to-be in the gable boxes.
Create intimate little sitting areas where friends can sit and chat by pulling up some chairs and ottomans in clusters. I used some outdoor pillows I had, a tray to put drinks down and a hand painted sea foam art print that will go into the baby’s room later.
So who is ready to set sail on a sweet nautical themed baby shower this year?

The nautical theme is one of the most overused themes in parties, boy nurseries and even showers. But I just never get tired of it! I love looking at nautical-themed rooms and parties!

I agree,Tasha. It’s a pretty popular theme, but it’s challenging for moms because they have to give it a new and different twist. They have to get creative and give their room or party something that should make the theme refreshing. otherwise, it will be the same boring stuff.

And the great thing about a nautical theme is that you can use different color combinations, experiment and see if these colors fit perfectly with the nautical elements or decor. Like this one is navy, red, powder blue, with pops of yellow. Some use just light blue. Others use various shades of blue. There’s blue and white, or blue and grey. Others toss in green.

Really beautiful party details. I like how you really stuck to the nautical theme.
