Design Reveal: Taylor’s Fantasy Fairyland

What aspiring little princess doesn’t love the color pink, a crystal chandelier and sparkly butterflies? When planning her daughter Taylor’s nursery, mom Shannon was leaning toward traditional decor but also wanted to create a room filled with soft, feminine touches and a sprinkle of fantasy. Tailored wide beige stripes where painted on the walls and hand-painted trees where added in the corners to bring the fantasy feel into the room. Soft white furniture was chosen and pink window treatments add a finished look . Taylor is one lucky little lady to have such a beautiful room to dream in. After all she is mom’s number one little princess!

What was your inspiration for the room?
A tea room shop that I visited when I was on vacation in California

What best describes your decorating style?
Traditional

Please with us your choice of paint colors, furniture, art, DIY tips, etc.
My daughter’s crib and cream chair in the corner of the nursery was purchased at Babys R Us. I decided to keep the existing queen size bed in the nursery and just got a cream comforter for it at Tuesday Morning and toile fabric at Jo Ann’s fabrics. The chandelier was purchased at Lowe’s and the butterflies and the fairies hanging from the chandelier were purchased at a local store called Bradley’s. The mural in the room was done by a local artist and the stripes were paint from Home Depot. The lighter color is Biloxi (300E-1) and the darker color is Gobi Desert (710C-3).

What is your favorite item(s) in the room?

I love the bed in the nursery. It has been great for Grandmother’s and company to sleep in and we use it all the time to dress my daughter.

Is there anything else you would like PN readers to know?
I had some left over paint and fabric so I turned our spare room into a playroom. I am a stay at home mom and this playroom has been great to have. My daughter loves having her own space to go into and I love not having a ton of toys in the living room!
