Calming Gray Plaid Nursery

We’re touring a brand new baby boy’s gray plaid nursery today. We are loving the soft calming grays mixed with the natural wood of the crib. A bouclé glider adds the perfect touch of texture to this sweet and special space.

Mama Alaina Atwood is no stranger to design and uses her interior design skills to create beautiful spaces in her home for her family of five. You can follow along with Alaina and her family and see more of their lovely home on instagram or her website. Thank you, Alaina, for sharing with us!

Where did you pull inspiration for your nursery design?
Mainly Pinterest. I love Pinterest for inspiration. I also got some inspiration from one of my favorite bloggers. I made several design boards before narrowing down on this design.

What part of the design process did you enjoy the most?
Definitely sourcing all of the product. I love to hunt and make a vision come together. It’s so exciting and satisfying when I’m done.

What is your favorite part or detail in your gray plaid nursery?
I think the mobile from nestig is my favorite. It has horses on it, which is a sweet touch since our family is in the farm and home store business! I loved finding one that worked perfectly with the aesthetic of our home.

What is one thing that you would tell other parents to consider when starting their own nursery design project?
Make design boards! Print out images and put everything together or create a digital board before you buy anything. The biggest mistake I see people make is just buying lots of things they like, instead of making sure it all goes together first so they end up with a result they love.
