A Pink and Blue Girl’s Nursery Design Reveal

I’m so excited to finally share this pink and blue nursery with you! This room design was a special one because my client didn’t know if she was having a boy or a girl. She had different ideas in mind for each, but was waiting to find out. So I designed the room by choosing neutral furniture and decor, and then we had two options for wallpaper, rug and accessories on standby depending on what she had. I’m sure you can guess, but she had a girl! If you’re interested in seeing what the boy’s version looked like, you can see it on my blog!

On the other side of the room, we included a modern dresser with acrylic knobs that coordinate with the acrylic on the crib. It’s hard to see, but there’s also a fully acrylic changing tray on top as well! Because we had the space, we also put in a nice large wall mirror for a little added drama. The glider is super cozy, and there are a few more pops of acrylic in the wall shelves and the side table.

I always like to recommend bassinets to my clients, especially those who have a two-story home. It’s nice to have a spot for the baby in other rooms, or even inside the nursery when they are very little.

Because there was an inset wall, we decided to make that the feature wall for the crib. The inset area also has two octagon windows. We definitely needed to make sure to cover those windows with blackout curtains since they shine near the crib. We chose a gorgeous removable floral wallpaper for the back wall, which gives the whole room some dimension. It’s seriously so pretty in person—the design looks hand painted!

The room is finished off with decor and accessories. I chose items that were mostly gender neutral, and then added in just a few more pink touches once we knew she was having a girl.
