Don’t have a spare room to create the perfect nursery? Neither did I! Both my older kids each have their own room, and we really needed to keep our guest bedroom as all our family lives out of town. My daughters will one day share a room, but that’s at least two years away, so I decided to create a nursery nook in our guest room. Here are some things I learned along the way when creating our nursery nook.
Plan for the main purpose of the room. Though it’s a guest room, it’s Charlotte’s nursery 98% of the time. We have guests maybe once per month. I kept trying to work around the existing layout to keep things convenient for guests, but then I realized, this is Charlotte’s room. I normally wouldn’t have a guest bed pushed against a wall, but this layout worked best for our nook. Is your nook in a master bedroom? Well, that changes things!
We also decided to wait to find out the gender (Best. Surprise. Ever.), so knew we wanted to keep things neutral and then add some decor for either girl or boy. We landed on a neutral boho rainbow design, and we couldn’t love it more!
Pick furniture to fit the room. In my case, my guest bedroom is a good size, but it also has a queen size bed. I knew my best bet was a mini crib and single dresser because both had a small footprint. I added a utility cart to hold diaper changing supplies and baby basics like changing pads, burp cloths, etc.

3. Keep a consistent design, but don’t be afraid to add nursery decor to the nook. In this case, I added a woven wall hanging and rattan side table to fit in with my boho rainbow theme in the nook.
4. Choose items that can transition beyond the nursery phase. This is good advice in general, but especially when you know you won’t be in the nursery phase much longer. That’s why I chose this machine washable boho rug and pouf ottoman, both of which can transition to other rooms in my house.
Charlotte loves her space, and we love that it can function as both a nursery and guest bedroom. The best part? When we have guests staying, we carry the mini crib to our master bedroom closet. It’s lightweight, and yes, she sleeps great in there!

Hi There, The paint color is Stone Mason Gray by Valspar, but we color matched to Behr paint; it's slightly darker IRL. For the wall prints, I put them in a 16x20 frame with a mat. Hope this helps! Lauren

Hey just curious what the paint colour is? I love it! As well, are the prints (Clementine specifically), fit to 11x14 frames? or is there a mat, and the frame is larger? Can't quite tell from the photos. Love this look and it is exactly what I am going to go for, for our third babe! Thanks!
