A Blush and Gold Nursery Reveal with Serious Glam

This year has definitely been the year of blush and gold—I get so many requests for this color scheme for nurseries. It makes a lot of sense because this palette is soft and fresh, and it will continue to look nice for years to come. Statement floral wallpaper is also a huge trend, so for this nursery design, I chose a removable option that can be switched out easily down the road.

I designed this nursery for Irene Khan, one of the sweetest people I know. Her daughter Iya was already almost a year old, and they had just moved into a new house. The nursery needed an overhaul, and she was overwhelmed with how much had to be done.

I started with a stunning crib and dresser from the Uptown Collection by Newport Cottages. It’s modern and has touches of gold on the feet, which I love. As an added bonus, the dresser has acrylic knobs! We chose to go a tiny bit more traditional with the glider and selected a piece that had tufting on the back and a skirt. It’s not overly traditional and still modern enough to fit with the rest of the furniture. It’s by Best Home Furnishings, and it was custom made with this gorgeous blush fabric (they have a TON of fabric options).

You can see how the little gold detail on the crib feet really pulls the whole design together. The gold side table works so well, even though it’s more modern in design. It’s hard to see, but it actually has a marble top, which pulls in the gray from the wallpaper and the rug.

We had nice high ceilings in this room, so it was important to incorporate tall curtains to really capitalize on that. I went with a custom length here for the velvet blackout curtains because it ends up being more expensive to buy curtains that are too long and have them shortened. And you certainly don’t want them to be too short!

Lots of blush details accent the space, like the changing pad cover and crib sheet. We also added in touches of floral around the room to balance the wallpaper.

Irene had so many gorgeous photos of her daughter, and they just so happened to match the space perfectly. So, of course, we had to have them framed up nicely! We sent them in to Framebridge to be custom framed in pretty gold. I went with two oversized pieces on this big white wall next to the crib, and then we also chose three small pieces on the opposite of the room to pull it all together.

Hello! The walls were already painted a bright white, so I don't have the exact shade.
