We’ve always been a traveling family, and I love to accessorize my kids’ rooms with pieces from the places we have visited and other travel-inspired decor. Today I’m sharing this super fun travel-inspired “Oh, The Places You Will Go!” DIY quote globe that is the perfect fit for a nursery, big kid room or even the playroom. You’ve probably seen hand lettered globes before, but I’ve got an awesome cheat to get the look without any artistic ability required. Let’s get crafting!
Materials: Globe (you can either use one with a map or a blank globe), Cricut Explore Air2 or Cricut Maker, Standard Cricut Cutting mat, vinyl (you pick the colors!), Cricut Transfer Tape, Paint (optional if you want to change your globe color)
Follow the link to our “Oh, the Places You Will Go” design in Cricut’s Design Space. You’ll want to size the design to fit your globe. The design is currently set to fit the dimensions of 11X10X18.
Once you have your design formatted, click “Go.” Load your vinyl face up onto a regular or light grip mat and set to the Adhesive Foil setting.
Once you have your design cut, carefully remove all the excess vinyl using your Cricut weeding tool to reveal your design.
Apply the transfer tape to the top of the design. I recommend using the scraper tool to help press the material to the transfer tape. Then peel off the back tape from the design.
Once you have the design secured on the tape, place the design on the globe where you want it. Then, remove the transfer tape. Tip, start from the top and slowly remove the tape. And you’re done! I think it turned out pretty cute.
