Parenting may be unpredictable, but there is one thing you can always count on when you have a baby in the house, your little one will go through a ton of outfit changes! We’re sharing a fun and super easy project that will turn boring white tees or onesies into something fabulous with the help of one of the newest members of the Cricut product line, the Easy Press.
The Easy Press has quickly become one of my favorite crafting products. I don’t iron; I didn’t even own an iron before I started working on DIY iron-on projects! The Easy Press takes all the guess work out of iron-on projects and has saved me from a few meltdowns—literally! Ready to get crafting?
Materials: Plain white tees or bodysuits, Cricut Explore Air2 or Cricut Maker, Standard Cricut Cutting mat, iron-on material (you pick the colors!) and Cricut Easy Press
Follow the link to our Sweet Little One, Brand New Arrival or Little One designs in Cricut’s Design Space. Remember you can make as many or as few of the designs as you want. You can also get creative and make your own art to iron on to a onesie or a tee.
Once you have your design formatted, click “Go.” Be sure to check the mirror image box for iron-on. Load your iron-on face down onto a regular or light grip mat and set to the vinyl setting.
Once you have your design cut, carefully remove all the excess vinyl using your Cricut weeding tool to reveal your design!
Next, lay the iron-on design onto the baby tee, lining side up. Be sure to lay them out exactly how you want the final design to look. Once you apply heat, the design can’t be changed.
Now it’s time to put the Easy Press to work. Follow the iron-on instructions that are found on the roll of material. You’ll want to set your temperature and timer to the recommended setting. This will vary depending on the type of iron-on material you pick for the project.
Then set the temperature and timer on the Easy Press. Once the Cricut “C” light turns green, it’s ready! Place the Easy Press over the top of your project, hit the “C” and apply a little bit of pressure.
It is recommended that you place a light towel or pressing cloth between the Easy Press and the iron-on when ironing. Once cooled, remove the plastic lining from the iron-ons. I LOVE that the Easy Press counts down for me. The 9” x 9” heat plate delivers the exact temperature you need evenly and consistently through the design, unlike a typical iron. The Easy Press is equipped with a big handle, safety base and auto shutoff feature—all things that keep me safe every step of the way.
Bam, you now have adorable custom tees! These are the perfect gift to give when you visit a new baby or to keep for your own baby! I even used the ones I made to decorate for a baby shower.
The best part? The Easy Press helps you achieve lasting results. These tees will hold up even after repeated washes, and we all know that is a must with a baby!
