A couple of months ago, we made a visit to the the Museum of Ice Cream—a temporary art museum in downtown Los Angeles devoted to all things—you guessed it—ice cream. It features rooms of over-sized fake popsicles, gummy bears, tons of bananas hanging from the ceiling, and the ultimate “cherry on top” for my kids—the famed “sprinkle pool,” which is a pool filled with floaties and about a million plastic sprinkles to swim in!After our splendid visit there, it really got me in the mood to throw an ice cream party. I was inspired by the sweet, pastel colors, colorful sprinkles and the gummy goodness of ice cream! So, I quickly got to work designing and creating an ice cream-themed party of my own! Today I’m sharing some photos of my super-sweet bash, as well as all of the how-tos for how to throw one of your very own!
Here’s the scoop—an ice cream party is an awesome birthday theme for practically any age. It’s appropriate for someone turning 1 or 100. I mean, who doesn’t love ice cream? So, I designed this Sweet Treats Party Invitation with the cutest little kawaii ice cream treats on a pastel sprinkle print background.
One of my favorite parts of the party was the dining tables. I used aqua tablecloths and sprinkled them with pastel confetti. For centerpieces, I followed inspiration from Family Fun Magazine to create “carnation sundaes” complete with a real cherry on top. They were just perfect! For drink ware, I used ceramic ice cream cone cups with sprinkle-covered straws.
I created this Happy Birthday sign, which can be completely customized with your birthday girl’s name and age. It’s perfect for a food or ice cream buffet, or great for your front door!
This ice cream pennant banner is another great party decor addition to your event! It comes with eight ice cream characters and letters that spell out the words ICE CREAM.
I also created this party sign to display at your party, using the old familiar saying “I scream, you scream, we all scream for Ice Cream!” No ice cream party would be complete without this sign!
As part of your ice cream party, why not have a mini “ice cream shoppe” set up for the party guests to get their sweet treats from? I’ve created this ice cream shoppe sign, which you can display at your party’s ice cream shoppe!
Nothing says “ice cream party” like a waffle cone print party hat! These are sure to get your party started!
I love the idea of having a DIY toppings bar at your ice cream party! I displayed more of my “carnation sundaes” at the toppings bar, as well as a set of three ice cream prints, which I framed and hung above my table.
I love the added touch my little ice cream sweet treats banner gave to my DIY toppings bar as well!
And of course, a toppings bar definitely needs a really cute toppings bar sign!
I absolutely adore this print I created. It’s a fun play on words and perfect for an ice cream party! After all, it’s sherbet day!
I hope my Sweet Treats Ice Cream Party inspires you to create a “sweet” party of your own!
