When I found out that I was pregnant with my son, I was determined. Within nine months, I was going to design his nursery, transition my daughter out of her crib and into a big girl bed so that her little brother had somewhere to sleep (or to not sleep—details) and rework her space to accommodate the needs and interests of a toddler-going-on-teenager.
Well, fast forward more than two years, and although it’s been converted into a toddler bed, my now four and a half year old daughter is still sleeping in that same crib. Somehow shopping for a legitimate big girl bed has stayed low on our priority list, and although I don’t think it’s necessarily a bad thing—she’s comfortable, she likes it, and she sleeps great—with kindergarten just around the corner, it’s definitely time to make the switch. And I have my heart set on a gorgeous piece from Incy Interiors.
Incy Interiors came to be when its founder Kristy Withers was on the hunt for a big boy bed for her son, and her search came up short. She discovered a gap in the market for quality designer furniture in Australia, and she and her talented team filled it when Incy went from a new mother’s dream to a reality. And now the company offers a collection of beautiful furniture for the whole family, from cribs to queen-size beds, and it’s available in locations all over the world, including the USA—including The Project Nursery Shop!
The real stars of the show are the pieces in Incy’s metallic collection, and it comes as no surprise that these statement-making finishes were inspired by trends spotted on the runways of international fashion shows. The styles are vintage, but the high shine reflection gives each piece a modern twist that’s unexpected yet lovely. If you’re looking to add a bit of glamour to your nursery, the Ellie Crib is the perfect choice. It features rounded corners, sculptured side rails, two adjustable mattress heights for maximum flexibility and a stunning rose gold finish.
And if your little one has outgrown the nursery like my sweet girl (or even if you’re looking to upgrade your own sleeping arrangement), you have to check out Incy’s line of twin, full and queen-size beds. They feature the same balance between classic style and on-trend details, from sweet spindles to metallic finishes. And if you’re a rose gold lover, the Eden Bed is Incy’s answer to your prayers—it shines in every possible way.
