How to Make an Adorable Thanksgiving Pumpkin Turkey

This is a sponsored post by Huggies®. Thanks for your support in our effort to bring you exciting content.

I love Fall. There is nothing that makes me happier than pumpkin spice lattes and crisp fall air. Also, as we all know, with the fall excitement also comes cooler weather, meaning kids are starting to spend more time indoors. To help keep both mom and kids happy, we are sharing a super easy (and fun) art project that will not only help keep your little one active but will help set the mood in your home for Thanksgiving. Our family always enjoys a Thanksgiving craft that helps us remember what we are thankful for. Get ready to break out the pumpkins (and the wipes) because we’re going to a little crafty.

Materials: Pumpkin (real or fake), washable paint, paint brush, feathers, googly eyes, glue and Huggies® Wipes

If you are anything like me, the idea of kids and paint might send you into panic mood. Don’t worry! Keep your Huggies® Wipes close by to help keep those paint filled hands in control.

Start the project off by painting the palm of your little one’s hand.

Next, select a different color for the fingers, this will help establish the different parts of the turkey. Make sure to layer the paint on thick so it will transfer to the pumpkin.

Firmly place your child’s hand on the pumpkin. In this case, we did one hand print for everything we were thankful for, Finn was thankful for his three siblings. Each hand print represents that.

Use your Huggies® Wipes to clean your little one’s hands. Be sure to act quickly before those messy hands leave any prints on unwanted places.

Once your little one’s hands are clean, allow him to help you glue feathers onto the pumpkin.

Lastly, add the googly eyes. It’s the perfect finishing touch to add life to the turkey.

Finn had a blast creating this project, and mom even got in on the fun, too, by making her own pumpkin turkey. The Huggies® Wipes also came in handy for cleaning the table after the project was completed.

Once the project has dried, display them around the house to add a little fall decor to your home. After all, there is nothing better than kids’ art.
