Donut-Themed Kids Party + Giveaway

Our love for donuts runs deep—we were so inspired by this yummy, fluffy confection that we decided it needed its own celebration. We’re excited to share with you some inspiration and ideas for throwing your own sweet donut-themed kids party! We always begin the party styling process with the invitation and couldn’t resist this scrumptious invite. It set the stage for the most perfect donut party colors—sugar white, caramel, bubblegum pink and chocolate. We’re smitten with the donut theme because donuts are universally loved (who doesn’t love them?!) and can be used year-round for a birthday party or even a baby shower. For a kids party, set your start time for the morning hours when the guests are fresh and the parents can enjoy a cup of coffee with their donuts!

This sprinkle dessert table backdrop was super easy to create. Cut card stock paper into 1.5″ x 5″ strips and round each corner with a corner rounder. Then simply adhere the strips to a wall or backdrop in a “sprinkled” pattern with double-sided tape. Voila! Instant jimmies! We also draped light pink and white tissue fringe garland for extra flair.

Although donuts take center stage, they aren’t the only sweet treats at this party. We must warn you—the following images might just send you into a sugar coma! Another cute dessert table idea is to stack donuts on top of one another and stick in a number sparkler candle for a yummy, party-perfect donut cake tower.

Cookies that look like donuts? That’s a win-win in our book. You can pre-frost the cookies and have them available on the dessert table, package them up in cellophane bags as take-home favors or use them as a party activity and let the kids frost and sprinkle the cookies themselves at a donut cookie decorating station.

Nothing goes better with donuts than a glass of cold milk. Add some extra pizzazz to your milk bottles by rimming them with color coordinating sprinkles.

We carried the party color scheme throughout all of the decor, including the tissue tassel garland, balloons, donut paper goods and mini bakery boxes with donut tags. All are sure to satisfy any sweet tooth!

These are two party games that are a must-play at any donut celebration.

Donut on a String
Cut multiple pieces of string at various lengths and tie one end of each around a donut. Hang the strings from a ceiling or other fixture so that the donuts dangle in the air, making sure to leave enough space between each donut for the children to stand. Have the kids stand in front of a donut that meets their height. On the count of three, they must eat the entire donut without letting it fall off the string. No hands allowed. The first to finish wins.

Donut Toss
Split up the players into teams of two and line them up across from each other. Player A will be given a box of donuts, while Player B is given a plastic grocery bag. The object of the game is for Player A to toss the donuts into the plastic bag without any of them dropping or breaking. Player B must maneuver around to catch the donuts without touching them. Once they have all been thrown, the team with the most donuts in the bag and still intact wins.
