Are You Worried About Heading Back to Work After Baby? Let Us Help.

When my maternity leave was over after having my first baby, I battled anxiety and worried about how, as a nursing mom, I would be able to step back into the corporate world. I remember worrying about how and where I would pump and how I would fit pumping around my meeting schedule. These are all real challenges that new moms face when re-entering the workplace—Forty Weeks understands these challenges, and they are ready to do something about it. That’s why they’re proud to introduce the It’s Working Project.

It’s Working is all about identifying the issues that new moms face when returning to work and addressing them. With an emphasis on private sector organizations, the goal is to help companies develop tools and make changes to the work environment that will make the return to work an easier, more natural transition. When it’s time to re-enter the workplace, women should take pride in their decision, and It’s Working was created to make this a priority for their employers. Project Nursery is proud to rally around this organization!

It’s Working Project recently launched the Portrait Project. The Portrait Project provides a mosaic of the back-to-work experience for American parents. The stories are honest, candid and individual. There are successes and failures, struggles and triumphs. This is the first comprehensive look at the back-to-work experience in our country, told in the first person, through the lens of those who live it. Here are a few of the snap shots parents shared.
