Curved to Perfection

If there’s one thing I’ve learned about breastfeeding after nursing my two babies, it’s that correct positioning is absolutely essential to success. From excruciating soreness, to low supply, to a baby that just wanted to use me as a pacifier forever and ever (and ever!), I had a really rough go of it the first time around. But my daughter and I worked through the challenges, and once we found our sweet spot, nursing her became one of my most treasured memories from her first year.

I was really nervous that I’d be faced with the same breastfeeding challenges when my son was born, but he and I just clicked right from the very beginning. Armed with a few pillows, many, many bottles of water and that state of bliss that you feel when you meet your sweet babe for the first time, I held him at the proper angle, he latched on immediately and the rest is history. We’re seven months in, and nursing my son has never been sweeter. And although I’m very proud of our success in those early days, I added a new nursing pillow to our routine that has made breastfeeding even easier.

Ergobaby Natural Curve Nursing Pillow

Ergobaby recently released the Natural Curve Nursing Pillow, and it’s every bit as amazing as their signature baby carriers. The unique design of this pillow was developed with the help of lactation experts and nursing moms, and they took care to thoughtfully address the most common issues that mamas face when breastfeeding their little ones.

First, the Natural Curve Nursing Pillow helps you to achieve the ideal breastfeeding position. Because of it’s contoured shape, you and baby will be tummy-to-tummy, and his head and body will be angled towards you, ensuring a better latch. Not only that, but baby’s head will also be supported above his tummy, which may positively impact digestion. A better latch means less chance of soreness for mom, and better digestion means a happier baby—do I have your attention yet?

Ergobaby Natural Curve Nursing Pillow

Ergobaby also made mom’s comfort a priority, and the Natural Curve Nursing Pillow was designed to help you to be as comfortable as possible. This is not your standard soft and fluffy pillow—it’s made from firm foam that holds its shape rather than conforming to baby’s body. The result? Less leaning and slouching, and less back pain for you. Plus, it provides incredible arm support because its curved shape wraps around your waist, giving you a place to rest your arm. Even though tank top season is in full force, I’d rather get my tricep workout at the gym than holding baby’s weight throughout a marathon nursing session. Are you with me?

Ergobaby Natural Curve Nursing Pillow

The Natural Curve Nursing Pillow comes with a removable cover that’s super soft on top for baby’s sensitive skin and 100% poplin cotton on the bottom. And because we all know that leaks and spit up are inevitable, it also features an interior lining for an extra layer of protection AND the cover is machine washable.

The Natural Curve Nursing Pillow is available now on Ergobaby’s website.
