This French brand originated in Dubai, and it has officially gone global with an online retail presence, making it possible for everyone around the world to enjoy their chic, sophisticated kids’ fashions. The retail spaces are beautiful too—you’ll feel as if you’ve stepped into your favorite childhood memory of time spent on the beach when you walk into one of their stores. Poupette à la Plage specializes in swimwear and beach accessories, and they’re made with the finest fabrics that are both stylish and have classic appeal.
What about Poupette à la Plage makes you most proud?
I am proud to have been able to nurture a niche and secure a loyal following for Poupette à la Plage beachwear for children by establishing a firm footing in luxury hotels, beach clubs and in the upmarket retail. Poupette à la Plage has fast become recognized for its elegant, vibrant and impeccably made designs.
More recently, we have opened our first flagship boutique. The store is expressly French, chic in style and its white-washed, distressed wood provides an effective backdrop to the beautiful color, pattern and detail of the product. The brand illustrations are truly lovely, delicate and sophisticated, and they provide for a seamless customer experience. They also bring the personalization piece to life, making the selected outfits for the little ones feel more special and more exclusively theirs!
Do you have a signature product or design element?
We use the highest quality fabric in our creations. The classic appeal of our vintage-inspired prints is enduring—it has a stylish and chic sensibility, and its classic overtones play particularly well to the heart of this children’s brand. This creates a sense of celebrating special memories of wonderful long days by the sea and sets the brand apart by imbuing it with this strong sense of place, a place where children have lots of freedom and childlike pleasure, play and fun.
Our product range also enables mums to mix and match product to their own individual style and gives it a more sophisticated and personalized dimension. This not only makes their children look adorable but also reflects positively on their own good and discerning taste!
Where do you find your inspiration?
My children continue to be the main inspiration for my creations. They’re the first to try every piece I make, and they let me know how they feel about it! Without them, I would not have the green light. I’m also inspired by places I visit and by what surrounds me. I am fortunate to be living in the metropolitan city of Dubai, which embraces diversity of mothers, brands and tastes, making it extra challenging but inspiring at the same time.
