Ready, set, let’s recycle! We all know that parting with our breastpumps is easier said than done. I’m guilty of holding on to two pumps that no longer serve a purpose in my home, but it’s difficult for me to let go. It means I am officially done with the baby stage and moving on to the next chapter of motherhood. I adore watching my kids grow, but a small part of me secretly longs for the bonding moments I had with them when I was nursing. And my pump was my lifeline to stay connected to my babies even when I wasn’t with them. Can you relate?
Our friends at Medela are giving us a wonderful reason to say goodbye to our pumps—the Medela Recycles program. Once you’re ready to part with it, Medela is encouraging you to recycle your pump in order to help another mom begin her own breastfeeding journey. Every pump Medela receives will help support the donation of new hospital-grade, multiple-use breastpumps and supplies to the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC).
Medela’s goal is to reach 12,000 recycled pumps, so to help kick-start this program, we are hosting a Twitter Party! Join us on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at 5pm PST/8pm EST to celebrate Medela Recycles! I’m ready to take the plunge—are you? Track the progress on Medela’s website.
