Design Board: Indigo Nursery

Is it just us or do you love all the indigo showing up in children’s design lately? We even spotted this “cool” color in Bravado Designs’ new seasonal nursing bra colors. Will you be finding a way to insert this shade of blue—pretty enough for a girl but still cool and classic for a boy—in your nursery design?

I get confused about colors and shades, too. All I know is that indigo has a touch of violet in it.

Yeah, this is more like it. The shade of indigo I had in mind.

Me too. I was surprised to see that the shade of indigo in these items features here are lighter and brighter.

We need to add the new indigo blue Ubbi diaper pail to the board!

Hi Lisa, We like all the blues showing up in home decor lately. You are right though, Indigo could go a bit darker. Check out New Arrivals Dakota Blue or High Tides baby bedding sets. Is that more along the lines of what you are envisioning for Indigo in the nursery? We love to know our readers opinions so thanks for commenting!

I like indigo blue, but I always thought it was darker than the colors shown. I picture indigo blue the color of indigo dye or maybe like a blueberry. It is a cool color and I think it balances well with natural fabrics. I would definitely use it in a nursery.
