Baby Registry: Swaddlers

When you first start your baby registry, you realize just how many baby products are out there. It’s overwhelming for anybody but especially for first-time expecting parents, who, shall we say, have a lot of other things on their mind! We’d love to help you narrow down the playing field here at Project Nursery as you check items off your registry list.

Okay, I’ll be honest. This is one of those categories where you may want to purchase several of the options below. Getting your wee one to sleep is a main priority in the first months, and finding the right fit for your baby may take a few tries and may even change as he or she gets older. Personally, I loved aden + anais’ swaddle blankets for the first few weeks (though they have lots of other uses for later); I swore by the miracle blanket for both my sons for the next few months; and then I switched to a sleep bag, more for comfort and extra warmth than swaddling.

It’s about a technique he designed to recreate the essential elements of the baby’s experience of living in its mother’s womb. Read the book. There are also YouTube videos where he demonstrated this technique. Just search his name.

I’m intrigued. What’s the book all about?

I realized how essential swaddlers are when I read Dr. Harvey Karp’s book “The Happiest Baby on the Block.”

I didn’t discover the zen until after my youngest was done with swaddling. I love the idea of baby feeling hugged by the extra weight. Glad to hear it worked for you!

Thanks for sharing another great option!

You’re right. With the different designs and with our babies’ varying needs as they grow, it takes a few tries. Love my Nested Bean Zen Swaddle though.

I loved the SwaddleMe. It worked so well for our little one. We definitely plan to go with them again for baby #2.
