Lounging Around

As we spend cold winter days cuddled up on the couch with our little ones reading books, looking at pictures or enjoying a movie, we think about all those little lounge chairs sized just for little ones. From the comfortable to the iconic, we see more and more designer furniture being produced in perfect scale for little people. Here are some of our favorites.

The Parker Child Sofa is the perfect combination of comfort and royal elegance, ideal for a little 4pm tea gathering.

The Egg Chair is a classic of modern design. Good in a child’s bedroom or simply next to Daddy’s egg chair to share a book reading, it is a beautiful piece.

The Cabana Loveseat from ducduc can come in a floral pattern (as seen below) or more simply in plain colors. We like to imagine it in plain white with hot pink piping.

The Knoll Barcelona Chair, like the Egg chair, really is the perfect piece for little modern design lovers.

Last, but not least, we love the idea that our children can enjoy their reading time stretching out on their own comfy and stylish sectional sofa.

Would you invest in a kid-sized lounge piece or is it pure luxury?

If I have lots of money, why not? I would really like some signature furniture pieces. And even if my kids are too big to use them, I can always keep it as a decor until such time my kids will have children of their own. They will be great heirloom pieces.

As much as these pieces are cute and nice-looking, cuddling in our large family sofa or lounge chair is good enough for me. :)

No for me too. I think it's not very practical especially for families with a tight budget. I don't even know why they're called "investments" when you can no longer use them after a few years, and if you resell them to another family, they'd be at a depreciated price.

Would I like to invest in a signature kid-sized chair? Heck no! Why? Because kids grow up so fast and these things will only eventually take up space. You can no longer use them when the kids have outgrown them.
