They say that the cobbler’s child never has shoes, so what happens when a nursery designer’s little girl is born? Well, it’s the opposite of the age-old proverb—this cobbler’s child gets the Louboutins of nurseries. We wanted to share some of the images and elements of Alessia’s little lady’s tiny nest.
Blending white, gray and yellow—with a cheeky pop of navy—we worked to create a space that was both calm and serene but also cheerful and bright. We hope that sweet and special dreams, as well as happy and precious memories, always fill this room.
1. Living in New York City, space is at a premium. The Stokke brand caters to the constraints of the city without compromising on design or functionality. The Stokke Sleepi was the first item added to our mood board.
2. Compact yet functional, the Stokke Care Changing Table holds everything you need in an easy to reach location.
3. When looking for yellow and gray wall art, the Positive Art Print by Honeyboo caught our eye, but the words captured our hearts.
4. The walls were brightened with Dove and Sunshine paint by Serena and Lily—and yes, we love the names of the shades as much as the colors themselves.
5. Throw pillows complete a nest; this labyrinth pillow by Dwell Studio brings an energy to the room, and the cloud-shaped pillow, from Blabla Kids, was bought in France with this little room in mind.
6. We love the Joya Rocker, and the luxurious feeling of the microsuede fabric eases the hours spent rocking in it.
7. Land of Nod’s “Not a Peep” crib bedding is both cute and calming, and we can’t help but hope that the name will encourage sleep.
8. We like the idea of continuing the stripes of the bedding at a larger scale in the Olin Gray Rug from Crate and Barrel.
9. Although the little one won’t be using the Tripp Trap Chair for a while, we love the rich, dark blue color. It’ll be used as a shelf until the little tush is ready to take its seat.
To honor Mother’s Day and all you mamas out there, Project Nursery, Stokke and My Tiny Nest teamed up to offer you all the chance to win three amazing Stokke pieces of your very own along with a My Tiny Nest design consultation!

What I love most about motherhood is the feeling of “completeness” and fulfillment that becoming a mother has given me. You know that wonderful line from Jerry McGuire, “You complete me” — I never felt that until the moment I held my son in my arms for the first time. And now, every day when he hugs me, or laughs, or says something funny or interesting, I feel like the one thing that was missing in my life was finally found. I am looking forward to the new joys that #2 will bring. :)
My favorite thing about motherhood is going into my son’s nursery in the morning and seeing him open his eyes and smile at me for the first time that day. It warms me up everytime…no matter how early he has woken up.
One thing I love about motherhood is that my sweet son keeps everyday new and fresh. He makes me laugh and I find so much purpose in being his mommy. He has no idea how much I love him!
I can hardly wait to become a mother and all the joy, adventures and love that is sure to come along with it! Eagerly expecting in October!
What I love most about motherhood is the unconditional love I get back from my son – I didn’t understand it until I had him :-)
I am so excited to become a mother this September! I can’t wait to bake with my daughter. I love baking and want to teach her all my baking tricks :)

I would like to nominate a wonderful mother who has been trying for 3 years has had 2 miscarriages one with twins and was told she would never get pregnant again.. through it all she is still a nurse, a friend, a daughter, a girlfriend, and a step mother.. the past year she lost her father and this particular pregnancy is extra special becuase the date of conception was the day of her fathers birthday.. her dream has finally come true of being a mother and her pregnancy has been doing well but has been forced to be on limited duty to prevent miscarriage.. I would ljust love for her to be given a little something to shed joy to celebrate all that she has endured..
I know it’s a ways off — we’re expecting our first in August — but I can’t wait to cook & bake with my baby girl!

What I am most looking forward to is laying my new baby down to sleep in their own room.

I love all of the “firsts” that motherhood brings. I love the first coo, smile, laugh and more.

What I love most about motherhood is after a long day at work coming home to my beautiful baby girl smiling at me or reaching her arms up to me. I pick her up and she grabs my face or rests her head on my chest. That melts my heart and melts away all the stress in my life.

What do I love most about Motherhood? The endless pride I feel when my children accomplish things that shape their future. When they solve problems on their own, and form their own beliefs and ideas. It reminds me that while I may have made them, and given them life….they are ultimately their own people and my influence has simply helped determine which path their personalities would follow. I have never quite felt pride like I do when I look at how far we’ve come as a family.

I can not single out just one reason I love being a mother. As a prenatal yoga teacher and a labor support doula, I have been around moms and babies for years and thought I knew what to expect in motherhood. What I had witnessed over the years was just the tip of the ice berg in terms of total consuming affection one can have for the new life that was brought into the world. Even though not all moments are joyful- letting my baby learn to self sooth himself to sleep- I wouldn’t trade this experience for anything! I feel blessed to be a mother.

Yesterday I just went to the Dr. To confirm my first pregnancy. This is one of the most thrilling and nerve wrecking adventures of my life. My husband and I are so excited to start this journey together.

I look forward most to seeing my husband become a father, spending time holding our little one close and just loving on them. I look forward to the sleepless nights, the midnight feedings, the staying in the house, and everything that comes along with being a mom.

I love being able to see how our daughter changes each and every day, what she learns and being able to notice the things she does like mommy or daddy! Its just amazing to see!
My sister Sierra Martinez and her husband Michael Martinez are going to be amazing parents; my nephew Samuel Jacob will be born in August of 2012 and we are all anxiously awaiting his birth. This is the first great grandbaby, grandbaby, and their first child together (Mike as a daughter from a previous relationship). We are soo thankful that my brother in law Mike who is a marine, will be home for the birth of Sam, as he wasn’t able to see his daughter come into the world. I want them to be able to have the nursery of their dreams for Sam which is why I am entering into this contest for them; they are both such hard working people and have had a lot of trials and tribulations in their life (my sister fell off a 3–story roof last year and really we are soo thankful that she is doing amazing) and the upcoming birth of their child is just truly a blessing and he deserves to have the very best. So please pick my sister Sierra and her husband Michael for this giveaway for their little blessing, Sammy. We all want the very best for him!! They have soo much love to give him and I think he deserves to have a fantastic nursery as well to go with all the love that he is going to have in his life!!

I think the best part of being a Mom is learning who your babies are, as they grow from tiny people into adulthood, and being so Blessed as having been the one chosen to guide and protect them on that adventure. I could not imagine my life without my three amazing blessings, and we are so excited to welcome another!
I am looking forward to bringing baby home! We are currently in the process of adopting our first child and this nursery would be such a blessing! I love the design of the grey and white that it could be perfect for either our baby boy or girl. I can’t wait!

I love being a mom to my 2 boys. Just being able to spend time having fun and teaching them about life is the best part. I am also pregnant with my 3rd child, and I am having a girl!!! :-) YAY!! It’s going to be so much fun having a little girl to go shopping with and having “girl” time while the boys spend time with their dad.

Being a mommy is the most rewarding thing I have EVER done in life!!! I have a bachelor’s degree, teach school, and almost finished with my master’s program, and NONE of that compares to the moment you meet your baby for the first time, and know that you, and only you, are their mommy for life!!
I love watching my children’s faces light up when they see new things that they find amazing.

Being in the National Guard my husband and I have had to put off starting a family as I have been called on 2 deployments in three years. One to Afghanistan and one to Iraq.
Now I’m back and I’m due in December! I’m looking forward to hang up the uniforms and start baby shopping! I can’t wait to show our baby that despite all the ugliness out there the world is still full of beauty and wonder.
I am looking forward to finally meeting her after all these months!

I recently had my first child on April 30, I didn’t really know just how I would feel about being a mother, but one look at his sweet face, and I instantly fell in love…and now, I just can’t keep myself from snuggling and loving him so deeply, there’s NOTHING like being a mother.

I’m actually entering this contest for my sister-in-law. My brother is currently working out of the country in Afghanistan as a contractor and will not be with her when their first child is born. She is new to this country and has had quite a culture shock and now pregnant with their first child. It’s a lot for one person to take on. Winning this contest would give her not only items she so desperately needs but a lift up in spirits.
i cannot wait to be a mother next month, to hold my sweet child, and start to see the world through someone elses little eyes.

I love waking up with her every morning – she is so happy and ready to start the day :)
These are amazing! I’m entering on behalf of my wonderful sister in-law, who is about to burst with a baby but doesn’t want to jinx it by setting up the nursery yet! I know she wants this color scheme and would love it. I can’t think of a better present I could give her and my Brother. They’re so busy and stressed out, this would be a huge relief.
Thx

Being a mom is the hardest job in the world – but there is nothing more rewarding and fulfilling!! My favorite thing though is probably the feeling that I’ve really done something amazing with my life by bringing these two wonderful children into it. I feel accomplished – there is nothing greater than being a mommy!!
I am a mother of a 10 year old and have one on the way. Becoming a mother was the best thing that ever happened to me. I did not know what love was until I had my daughter. What a blessing!

I am finally in my third trimester and the nursery has been a great way to concentrate my efforts as I impatiently wait for our little one to arrive. It has quite the journey as I explore what it means to be a mother, but I am excited to share my life with this new little person (our precious gift)!
I have wanted to be a mommy for as long as i can remember! Me and my husband have almost been married for ten years this august and have had a bumpy road getting pregnant. We are currently just finished with our very first cycle if invitro fertlilzation. We will find out this weekend (mothers day) if it worked for us. Ive already painted our nursery in grey with white polka dots now all i need is some good stuff to fill it! Good luck to everyone and may all our motherhood dreams come true!

I’ll be a first time mom come December! Right now I’m I already overwhelmed with the love I feel for this baby and I’m looking forward to every step of this journey. My baby was diagnosed with Spina Bifisa. We had surgery while I was still pregnant to close her back and give her a chance at a more normal life! When I see her reaching new milestones and doing things a normal baby should do at her age, that is what I enjoy most about being a mom! I can’t wait to see her walk without aid, I know it will happen and I feel so blessed to be her mama!
My due date is the 21st. I’m looking forward to a break from work and cuddling my first little baby!

One thing I especially love about being a mom is hearing my children call me “Mom”. I feel so blessed to have these incredible little people in my life.
I love being able to see the world through my children’s eyes. I love having someone who looks up to me. My favorite thing about being a mom is creating fun for my daughter and enjoying her enthusiasm about everything we do!!
What I Love most about being a mom, is all the little moments during the day with my two little sweeties. A fistfull of dandelions, a gummy smile from the baby, the joy in watching a ladybug crawl across the sidewalk, a leisurly walk on a sunny afternoon, holding my daughter’s hand, singing the same song over and over at bedtime, and literally watching them grow up right before our eyes. They are amazing little beings, and while it is not always easy with them, they are the beat of my heart. Happy Mother’s Day to all the mama’s out there!

I am due to have my first baby at the end of August. My husband and I have been together for over 6 years & married for over 1 year. What I look forward to most (besides seeing my baby’s face for the first time & knowing they are healthy) is seeing how my husband is as a dad. He is an only child & I am one of 6. I have grown up with much younger siblings & done a lot of babysitting. I know that having your own child is much, much different. But I just can’t wait to snap those photos of my husband’s face when he first holds his baby, changes a diaper, etc. I am so full of joy when I think of those moments to come & to share with him & our little one <3

The feeling of love in my heart each time I look at my boys!
I love seeing the person my son is becoming, the sweet stuff like hugs and “I love you”. And now that I’m expecting #2, it is especially sweet when my son rubs my belly and says “that’s my baby sister”.
My favorite thing about becoming a soon to be mom is knowing no matter what is to come I will love my baby girl more than I have loved anything in the world. Its crazy to think I already love something I havent got to meet yet.
We just adopted a little boy from Russia. What I love most about motherhood is that I no longer put myself first, or even in the top running. I want to give everything I can to my beautiful baby, and realize tht from now on out, a piece of my heart will always be living outside my body.
The innocence of watching a baby grow and learn and discover, is the most amazing experience.
What I love most about being a mom is the every day moments I get to spend with my kids, snuggling, hearing I love you, and random hugs.

My little girl is a month old today…she was brought to us nearly a month early! What I love most about being a mom is everything. Watching her change everyday and watching the way her dad interacts with her. Even with all the sleepless nights I still wake up with a smile on my face and ready to do it all over again. She makes me feel like a super mom. I didn’t know my life could possibly get any better but I was so wrong…the day she entered my world was the day it became hers.
my niece is about to become a mother for the first time. It will be my first great-nephew! I’m so excited for her.. she’s a social worker who just got her masters degree and i’m so proud of the woman she’s become. I know she will be a wonderful mother!

I’m a first time mother and though some days are tough, seeing my smiling baby’s face makes when we wake up, and before we go to bed makes it all worth all the hardships that come with parenthood. The saying is totally true – you don’t know true love until you’re a mother!
I love motherhood! It is yes one of the hardest jobs if done efficiently but the rewards outweigh any sacrifices made! My children are my joy and delight and I am so thankful for each one!
I’m stokked!! haha

My favorite thing about motherhood is:
I simply love every moment that my daughter is around me. She just makes every experience more real and meaningful even the mundane.
I love being a mom. It is an experience unlike any other to have a child and see them growing up and learning and developing personality. To see bits and pieces of myself, my husband, my brother, parents, in-laws and seeing all the little similarities that make my daughter like them, but still being a unique individual.
I’ve “liked” both pages on FB (Jack Sarah) and left a comment under the giveaway! What a wonderful prize…I’m in love with the color scheme!!!
What I like most about motherhood is seeing my kids grow from tiny babes into little people with their own humor and laughter and personalities. They bring life and love in our home. By the way I followed PN and S on twitter, cant seem to get the other one.
My baby girl is 5.5 months old and I love watching her change every day. My favorite thing in the world is cuddling with her after a long day of exploring the world together.

I love that I’m finally able to say that I’m a mom. After many years of TTC and being a nanny and former educator, I now get to love and care for MY own baby. I’m grateful for the blessings of motherhood because holding my daughter is the best feeling in the whole wide world. I can say that my heart is complete now that she is here. Anything else is just icing on the cake!
I love watching my daughters grow and learn new things, knowing that I’m playing a huge role in their lives. Being a mother definitely keeps me on my toes because I know that they are watching me and I need to be the best person that I can be for them!

Had I seen this last month, I’d have moved wistfully on. After ten years, we gave up hope on even the adoption process and started planning the rest of our life. Then came the phone call and in two weeks I will finally become mother to a baby daughter. What do I most look forward to? All of it.

Being a mother is by far the biggest blessing that I could have imagined I would be in receipt of. Every day I wake up with excited faces of my gorgeous and growing children, and each night they are tucked in their beds and I walk away filled with so much love and joy. Being a mother was a life changing experience 5 years ago, 3 years ago, and now, I am pregnant with our 3rd! I love that I am able to teach my children my passions that I am able to embrace their own passions for life and I am blessed to share in the role with my incredible and supportive husband. Being a mother is the best thing that has ever happened to me!!
After teaching elementary school for seven years, I am excited to have a child of my own! I have never felt more excited to meet anyone! This little life that my husband and I have created already feels so loved and important by so many. Every day we pray over this little miracle, still in disbelief that we were so lucky to be given this gift! I am looking most forward to shaping and molding this child into a person who loves life and embraces it all. I want to turn every day experiences into fun learning opportunities and show our child that life is truly a miracle to never be taken granted. Last year, we survived a tornado. This year we will celebrate the birth of our first child and cherish every moment!
I can’t wait to read books to my baby and rock him/her to sleep!
Being married for 3 years plus couldnt wait to add to our family cant wait to go on trips with my baby.
The thing I love most about being is a mum to my now two year old daughter (and soon to be mum of 2) is that no matter what’s going on in our lives Elke will always need us. She has also taught me how to love my own mother in a way I never knew before. I find it hard to imagine the joy two babies will have on our lives. What an overwhelming feeling that we (mothers and fathers of children) are able to experience. Bless.
The thing I love most about motherhood is easy, the endless love given and received between my son and I. It’s also pretty empowering to realize with each new things he learns that I am helping to mold him into an amazing person and that I actually grew him inside me! Seeing my husband with our son is also a special brand of happiness in itself.

What an incredible giveaway! I love that my five-month-old lights up whenever she sees me.
We are expecting our first child after being together 13 years. This experience is one, that I wasnt sure I would ever experience. We are over the moon with joy. I can not wait to share all this love that I have to give. I am looking forward to drawing with chalk on the sidewalk, baking chocolate chip cookies, going to the movies, going to the beach and teaching my child to swim but most of all holding my baby in my arms, and being in awe of the miracle we created.
i love the joy that motherhood brings to my life!

I love being a mom because when I see my children giving me a kiss or telling me they love me. I realize it is all worth it.
My wife is a wonderful wife and Mom. We have 3 boys, and I don’t what we would alldo without her. We try to treat as the queen of the castle that she is because she loves her family so much and keeps giving all she has to make sure her family misses nothing. I love her so much.
I admire my daughter for her motherly love and care towards her children. She has grown to become a caring, giving and nurturing mother, and it makes me very proud.
I never realized how much you can love someone until I had my daughter. She makes me sooo happy, I would do anything for her in this world. I just wish I could protect her from all the bad thing this life might bring.

My youngest daughter has a lovely son born almost a year ago. She has really become a wonderful Mom to her little son. He is an adorable member of our family and loves to come visit us, legs and arms flailing, wide grin on his face. Makes a grandparent’s heart soar!
I love the spontaneous smile I get on my lips when I notice the small bubbles and it’s my baby boy kicking – so I know that we can handle everything <3
I love playing with my little one and being home with her really brings me joy! Thaks for All of your inspiration and ideas!
Finger painting and teaching my daughter how to read brighten my day! She read her very first book all by herself just a few days ago! That was a major accomplishment! I am such a proud mommy!
The best thing that has ever happened to me in my life has been the birth of my son. He is my everything. To have someone that needs you for everything is the most amazing feeling in the world. I hold him and tell him how much I love him everyday. I feel so lucky to have been given the most amazing gift in the world, my son. He is my everything.

Just one of the things that I love most about motherhood, is when your little one will make or do anything, to show you that they love you…example – picking a rose out of the neighbors garden….and bringing it to you…and saying..here mommy…I picked this for you…cause I love you. So precious!

I would like to enter my daughter SABRINA for this giveaway contest. I love the stylishness of the Stokke furniture, the colors and the design of the entire Nest baby line. I know SABRINA would love to win all this as she has nothing. She will be a single mom, who is struggling making ends meet. This will be her first child (baby girl) due mid-June. She will finally have something that is her creation and will be proud to have this collection in her baby’s room.
I love everything about being a mom. What I love most is to see my baby happy. Every time I see my that little face smile just makes my day. There are times he plays and looks at me I guess to see if I’m watching, and then, he smiles. He’s the happiest little baby, all you have to do is smile at him and he smiles back. I love it!

My friend, Erin is about to be a mom for the third time, but she has not had a baby in 11 years! She has chosen to expand her family and she is the best mom ever! Her husband is a third grade teacher and she stays home for the kids, so they have a very limited income. ( you know how little teachers are paid.) they are starting from scratch with this baby and will need all the help they can get! This would be an amazing surprise!!!

I am most excited about motherhood because it is a new step for both my husband and I in a good direction!! The last year and a half has been a hectic one for us with lots of bad news. My husband was injured in Afghanistan and we went through 18 months of rehab before making the toughest decision of having his leg amputated so he would be able to walk again. We have spent so much time trying to rehab and get back to a normal life and were finally blessed with the wonderful news that our first child is on the way!! We couldn’t be more happy and can’t wait to have our little one with us!
We’re expecting our first (a baby boy) in late summer, and we’re overjoyed. With this blessing, this Mother’s Day holds extra special significance, not only for me, but for my mom, whom I can’t wait to see holding her first grandchild.
Thanks for this great giveaway! Project Nursery is such a wonderful source of inspiration and ideas.

I am 7 months pregnant with my first baby. After a long time seeking a baby and three mis-carrieges I cannot say how much this moment has meant for me. Every second is a pleasing, every kick my baby boy gives me is a reminder that their is life growing inside and that soon I will be honored to be called mom. If I would have to pick one thing I’ve enjoyed the most about this period in my life is feeling, for the first time, my baby kick. It’s an indescribably joyous feeling and only one that an expecting mom can experience. I am looking forward when I can finally hold my baby in my arms and tell him while looking into his eyes how much I love him.
