Art Party: A Palette of Party Projects

Remember the artist’s paint palette cookies I shared with you? Well, here is a follow-up with some more great DIY party ideas.

We are in full birthday swing over here. Between me and my bestie/business partner, three of our five kids have birthdays between April and May. This first party was themed around the birthday boy’s LOVE of painting and creating. This is such a fun theme for kids of any age; the colors are bright and bold, and the activities are endless!

A super easy and inexpensive backdrop dresses up this sweet table. We used construction paper to make colorful paper chains and then hung the paper chains from a clothes line. Kids love making these; plus it’s a great way to get them involved.

Do you remember spin art from when you were a kid? Well, this was definitely the hit of the party! All of the guests were given a chance at the spin art machine to make and take home mini masterpieces.

We also set up tables with poster paints and watercolors to keep the little Picassos busy.

We gave out hand-cut foam frames for the artists to showcase their fabulous work.

Clear paint pails embellished with paintbrush printables were filled with color-coordinated candy for guests to snack on.

Lastly, Rice Krispie treats dipped in color-coordinated candy melts were placed on a painter’s palette with wooden spoons to resemble paintbrushes—even the adults went crazy for these sweet treats!

I need to take out that old spin art kit that I have somewhere in the attic. These ideas look like fun and something that the kids would enjoy!

These are really lovely ideas and would make great substitutes from the old and boring parlor games. Thanks for sharing these Rebecca!
