Ali Wing Hosts PN at giggle NYC Office

If you have been keeping up with us on Facebook and twitter then you know that Melisa and I recently spent three jam-packed days pounding the pavement in New York City. We had a ton of fun, but let me tell you, I think my feet are still sore—please remind a mother of three never to wear brand new platform heels for nine hours straight! Besides the shoe shopping, one highlight during our time together was a visit to the giggle headquarters. Everyone knows we are big fans, and it was exciting to see firsthand where all the big decisions are made by the company that started the model of curating products for the modern parent!

The office was buzzing from a photo shoot that had just wrapped for a new line of toys designed in conjunction with Manhattan Toy. We were able to sneak a peek at a few of those adorable toys, which will soon be available online and in stores. But really, we must back up and tell you a little more about the office itself. Designed personally by founder and CEO Ali Wing, the open and modern space was true to giggle form with the signature colorful giggle stripes popping up and custom-made furniture and art that had us thinking they could launch an entire line of giggle branded furniture. It is evident that family is important by the wall of photos that showcases the children of all the giggle employees. And, of course, there were a few pieces from the giggle Better Basics furniture line to touch and feel.

During our visit, we dropped in to Ali’s office to say hello. She is such a dynamic and motivating woman, we really could have stayed and chatted for hours. I mean let’s just say with multiple degrees and a decade at Nike, Ms. Wing is no slouch. A trailblazer in her field, she is really the type of parent Melisa and I look to for inspiration, and with the launch of one concept store in my hometown of San Francisco, she single-handedly changed the outlook for the modern parent.

Ali explained how giggle got its start and what makes the brand stay true to its core—healthy. happy. baby. With over 2000 products both in the store and online, we were dying to know just how she honed the knack for finding the best in class, which is what makes the shopping experience at giggle so attractive. Can you believe they weed through over 200 new companies each month looking for only the best of the best for baby? Because they are privy to the latest and greatest in the baby world long before you and I see it in the stores, you know you’ll find only the best items when shopping at giggle.

Another highlight was meeting the team behind their brand new Registry app! Melisa and I added the app to our smart phones back when it first launched, and it was fun to play around with it while in the office. It is so easy to use and navigate, and all I kept thinking was how handy it would have been when I was going through the baby shower thing over six years ago (boy, that seems like ancient history now!). And the folks at giggle have installed an instant helpline should you need anything—just look for the signature orange phone and you’ve got an instant giggle representative at your service.

We want to thank Ali and the gang at giggle for hosting our “behind the scenes” tour and for being trailblazers in the nursery and baby product world. Our love fest is sure to continue as we will be contributing regularly to the giggle gab blog, so stay tuned for more!

Love the feel of their office. It seems like a really great place to work at. You don't have a picture but I like what you said about that wall displaying photos of employees' families.
