One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish

When it comes to summer, there’s nothing like a nautical/beach/fish theme to get me excited for a party!  If your little one is craving a colorful birthday party this summer…..this theme is for you!  (perfect for a boy or a girl, by the way!)

This darling invitation from Tiny Prints sets a playful tone for the party, and also introduces a signature blue color….perfect for pulling into all areas of your party.  The fish icons can be carried out into decorations (can’t you just picture a banner made out of colorful little fish!?) and sweets!  I L-O-V-E this creative display of fish cupcakes (tip: they are decorated with m & m’s! – how easy is that?!) and these colorful fish cookies would make perfect party favors.

I found a darling fishing game featured over on Hostess with the Mostess…..it’s magnetic fishing.  Attach a paper clip to each one of the paper fish “swimming” on a blue tarp, and then attach a magnet to the end of your fishing line.  So creative….and so easy to re-create!

And if you want to carry the fish theme into the party favors, why not send each child home with a goldfish-in-a-bag soap?!  It’s a great way to dress up bath time, and a great alternative to the traditional sweets!

What a fun game! I am an event planner and mom of three myself, and I recently wrote an article with over forty birthday party game ideas. I noticed this article has pingbacks to other articles about kids’ birthday party games, and I feel my article, too, provides a ton of value to anyone who is looking to entertain kids of any age at a birthday party. I really enjoyed this post and have added your “Fish out of Water” fishing game to my party games list. I would greatly appreciate your consideration for inclusion on this page. Thank you so much for your time!

Do you have a link to the cupcakes? What are the tails? They are cute! I think I am going to make the goldfish in a bag soap for party favors for my son’s 5th birthday in July! He will want to help! So easy (I think!) and so cute! I think the most difficult part will be keeping the bag upright so the soap does not run out and the bag stays clean.

The goldfish-in-a-bag party favor looks very interesting. I couldn’t agree more about a nautical/beach themed party being appropriate for summer.
