The ladies behind Operation Shower, LeAnn & Amy were at it again! Their most recent event showering military moms-to-be themed, “Red, White & Coo” was yet another smashing success. With summer BBQ’s just around the corner, we wanted to highlight some of the fantastic charitable work and decorative patriotic details created our party planning friends and vendors from their latest shower with some serious Presidential lady power.
Held in Camp Lejeune, located in Jacksonville, N.C. (the largest Marine Corps base on the east coast), this shower was full of surprises including big gifts and special guests. As part of a new White House initiative which calls upon the nation to help support military families and recognizes people, schools and organizations who are going above and beyond to offer support, First Lady, Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden made a surprise guest appearance at the shower to show recognition for the organization, but more importantly to show their support for each of the moms-to-be. Martha Stewart also attended and conducted a scrapbooking demonstration.
The guests of honor weren’t given much information about the event so the surprises just kept coming. They all received a “Shower in a Box” which was filled with all of the essential baby items including diapers, wipes, blankets, etc. In addition to the infamous “Shower in a Box”, various baby items were raffled off. Carousel Designs generously provided each mom with a $400 gift certificate to custom design the crib bedding of their choice via their one of a kind “nursery designer” tool. And while the grand prize was to be one Madison 3-in-1 Fixed Gate Crib, Pottery Barn Kids gifted one to each of the expectant moms!
Sarah Lynam of Pottery Barn Kids shares, “As I made the announcement to the group that each of them would walk away with a brand new Pottery Barn Kids crib a hush fell over the room – many were in disbelief, some started cheering and others burst into tears of joy. I can’t begin to explain what it felt like to see their expressions and was truly a proud moment for our brand to be a part of something so special.”

The shower was a wonderful thing . It is just to sad a wife that is expecting was left out. Her husband will only get two weeks with with there baby when he is born,and will not see him again if he is lucky!!! until the baby is eight months old.These men are risking there lives for our country and not seeing there children for many months,It was a wonderful thing that was done for these mothers,But a terrable oversight on the person in charge of divison S 3. I want to thank the people that gave the shower and our military and there families

I find it significant that Martha Stewart made such an awesome bounce back after going to jail. Most would have assumed that would have ended the whole thing, but not at all!
