Giveaway: Behind the Scenes with Skip Hop + Giveaway

Ever wonder where your favorite baby products are developed? Does this red and white motif look familiar?

A company like Skip Hop is bound to have some cool, open/airy office space, cool creative types working diligently on their Macs and a cool founder who is just as passionate about the future of their products as they were when they made their first diaper bags for friends. Check all the boxes for the folks at Skip Hop because it’s all true. I had the pleasure of meeting Chief Creative Officer/Founder Ellen Diamant while in New York City. So what was missing? A cool attitude. Ellen warmly welcomed me to their new studio where I got a behind the scenes glimpse of how Skip Hop continues to stay fresh and focused!

Ellen’s love of great fabrics is the inspiration source for the designs she and her team dream up. Whether traveling for business or pleasure, Ellen has a knack for bringing home interesting fabrics from around the globe. Here are some of those inspirational patterns being put into action.

Surrounded by samples of fabrics, toys, bedding and prints, Skip Hop’s studio is brimming with creativity in an effort to stay on top of the modern baby world. Ellen and her team spend time focusing on the smallest of design details to make a better product. So whether it’s finding the perfect shade of pink thread for their latest crib collection, Flower Burst, analyzing the shape of a toy car or debating the next “it” animal trend, you can be assured that a lot of thought and care goes into the final Skip Hop product.

I personally love Skip Hop’s clever little creatures from their Zoo Pack collection. And good news, more are coming – I spied a little prototype of a friendly fox!

With distribution now spanning the globe, the sales team stays inspired while meeting in their conference room adorned by Skip Hop’s top notch products. How could you not to want to bring home one of everything!

A big thank you to Ellen for being so generous with her time and hospitality. She and husband Michael run a fantastic company modern parents can relate to and appreciate. We can expect to see more great products in 2011 as Skip Hop officially enters the nursery with their latest line of crib bedding. Earlier this month Flower Burst debuted and mom’s of baby girls are happy!

WIN IT! Ellen is giving away one Flower Burst Crib Set (a $220 value) to a  lucky PN reader. Visit Skip Hop and tell us what you love most about their modern baby products. Contest ends Friday, December 31st, 2010 at 11:59pm PST. Extra entry details are listed below.
