Guest Blog: Tips from Mrs. Mogul & Her Mogul Baby

We are in the process of updating our link love page to share some of our very favorite blogging moms. Moms like Lisa Estall who traded in her life in the entertainment industry to be home with her three year old and three month old. Among other things, Lisa keeps busy blogging for not one but TWO of her own sites, Mrs. Mogul and trusty children’s product review blog, Mogul Baby. So who better to ask than Lisa when we wanted to know about some of the best children’s products currently on the market! – M&P

As a mom who has reviewed a variety children’s products, I get to see my fair share of “wow” items and “dud” ones. I’m particularly grateful for finding out about companies that sell eco-friendly products made in the USA. Here’s a list the top five I think are worth buying from:

Green Toys

This company has made toys made out of 100% recycled milk jugs cool. Tea sets, recycling trucks and tool boxes are some of what they have to offer. The plastic material they use is called high-density polyethylene (or HDPE). It’s considered one of the safest, cleanest plastics around o play with. I love that these toys come without those annoying plastic ties.

Isabooties

These animal-free shoes for children are made of breathable Ultrasuede fabric. The bottoms have non-slip soles and come in great color combos. Isabooties come packaged in recycled materials printed with soy ink. Sizes go from 3-24 months.

Lunch Skins

I keep snacks in these USA-made bags all the time. I like the sturdy material and the funky designs they come in. They’re made from a quick-drying German fabric certified as food safe. They’re durable, moisture and grease proof and cleaning them is easy for I just pop them in the dishwasher.

Violet’s Peapod

These sleep bags are what my daughter slept in all winter. They are 100% cotton lined and are filled with 100% wool. These sleep bags are available in a multitude of pretty fabric designs and patterns (you’ll want more than one!). Sizes go from 6 months and range to 24 months.

Wet Bags by Monkey Foot Designs

If you’re a cloth diaper parent, these bright, happy and colorful Wet Bags will almost make dealing with soiled diapers a pleasurable affair. The bag seals up with a heavy duty zipper, helping to keep odors inside the bag and the inner lining both waterproof and antibacterial. The bags measure 9′ by 11′ and will hold 2 or 3 cloth diapers at a time. Versatile, you can also use them for keeping your suntan lotion and carrying snacks.

Thanks for featuring Green Toys. As an avid environmentalist, I have been purchasing from them for the longest time, not just for my kids but for my friends' kids as well, hoping that they would not buy those poisonous and dangerous plastic toys from China. My personal favorite is their stacker: http://greentoys.com/green-toys-stacker.html Very colorful and very safe!
