Oh the Places You’ll Go Playroom

A one-of-a-kind playroom that inspires creativity where kids can play, read and imagine. I love that every corner of this space has something unexpected and genuinely unique for these two adorable siblings.
My goal was to mix high style with pure fun and the results of this room are definitely stylish with loads of pure fun from the full size telephone booth to the custom book chandelier!

Mary Poppins Nursery

A simple, bright, & ladylike room for a past client ( Library Nursery ) who was drawn to daring red accents and a love for a very special nanny. This classic design was centered around an out-of-the ordinary color palette of gutsy red, rose quartz, and Chantilly lace. Our client asked us to incorporate subtle elements from her favorite childhood story of Mary Poppins and to reuse and repeat some of the key pieces that were in her son’s nursery. A timeless poppies { pun intended } wallpaper is the focal point while a copper, oversized spoon is hung for the sweetest decor piece. A soft blue uniform fabric dresses the windows, grey and white zig-zags ground the room, and a traditional buffalo check pattern makes an appearance. The tufted ottoman adds softness and an IKEA dresser is revamped using gorgeous scaled knobs in brass. Hints of the vintage story are made throughout from a well-known quote on a decorative pillow to a framed wall art that notes each iconic symbol. An adorable penguin hamper, a woodlands floor lamp, and the flower pot sugar container are just some of our favorite details in this “supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” room.

Celestial Inspired Boys Room

This room was designed for a little boy to update his nursery to his “big boy” room.  The bead board wainscotting, convertible toddler bed and dresser were existing.  My client wanted a “celestial” theme that was not too “themey”.  This drove the design in that most (although not all) of the elements of the design were suggestive of the celestial theme, rather than literal.  This is how I prefer to approach children’s room design because it allows the room the grow with the child.  Who wants to completely redecorate every couple of years?!

Sebastian’s North Pole Birthday Brunch

Twas the night before December, and all through the house, not a creature was stirring, except for two very excited expecting parents!
With our son being born bright and early the First of December, 2014, it seemed only fitting that his first birthday party would kickstart this year’s holiday festivities.  A spin on the traditional ONE-derland theme, Sebastian’s North Pole Birthday Breakfast had just the right splash of sparkle and tinsel, polar bears and penguins, and of course songs and snow!  After all, there is sNOw sweeter age than ONE!

A Modern “Nerd”sery

My husband and I had a great time designing this nerdy nursery for our soon-to-arrive little girl. With Star Wars, Doctor Who, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Star Trek, Ghostbusters, Firefly, Harry Potter, Wonder Woman, Robot, Dragon, Marvel, Monster, Dog, Lego, and Dinosaur details, we infused this room with as much of ourselves as we possibly could, while keeping it modern and classic.
We are so in love with this space and hopefully it will be a room that can grow with our little girl.
