Jacks Dream Rug/Room
This was all about creating a space he wanted to spend time in. We wanted him to play a part in making some of the decor choices which makes him love his new big boy room that much more.

When we purchased our home, after the living room, my son’s room was the next priority for decorating. I initially started out with a pirate theme, but found a few awesome sailor pieces so I combined the two into a fabulous sea adventure for my 4 year old who is a big pirate fan!
Lennyn’s girly gold nursery is a sweet soft space accented with gold antique and chic details. Burlap, Lace & Gold, oh my!
Those that have been following me for some time know that I go all out every year for my son’s birthday party. His 1st birthday was a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse theme, his 2nd birthday was a Jake & the Neverland Pirates theme, and for his 3rd birthday last year I went all out with a Madagascar 3 Circus themed birthday party! This year’s party was over-the-top, full of DIY projects, fun, wild, colorful, and full of sugary, sweet delectable goodies = guaranteed success. Check out this awesome DIY birthday party, wild circus Madagascar style!
This project is the nursery nook sleep system I made for my daughter because I am limited on space and I have to share my room with her, so I decided to clear out my entire closet, clean it & scrub the walls and carpet to make an environment for my soon to be daughter. Being able to do this has been very convenient for me.
I wanted Ari’s animal inspired nursery to have a calm and neutral vibe but not overly themed. I also wanted to incorporate some furniture and elements that could be long lasting and used in his room decor as he becomes a toddler.
We are preparing this pink, mint and grey nursery for our baby girl, due in October. I wanted to create a special room that felt peaceful and beautiful. I love soft, pastel colors and wanted to give her a space she could grow into. I decided early on that I would not have a “theme”, but rather a color scheme and overarching ideas of what I wanted the room to feel like. Within the light gray walls you’ll find different shades of pink and mint with gold accents running throughout.
A aqua, black and gold baby girl’s nursery. This non-traditional nursery uses big patterns and bold colors throughout, including a gold/white chevron ikat stenciled wall (paint), and a crib and dresser painted in bright aqua using nontoxic paint. Elsewhere the nursery is splashed with black and white stripes, including the storage bins, rug, curtains and accessories.
We painted the wall gold using Modern Masters Metallic Paint as the base coat, and white as the overlay. While we used several different metallic colors, in retrospect, one 32 oz bottle of this would have achieved the same look.
Our first annual Back to School Feast – a fun and whimsical dinner to celebrate and kick-off a new school year for our kids.
Being the first baby of two surfers, it was inevitable that Eva’s nursery would be inspired by the sea.
My husband and I are having our first baby in October. We just moved into a new house, giving us a blank canvas on which to build the perfect nursery for our new baby girl, Charlotte Cecile.
Sophisticated Harry Potter inspired baby nursery for gender neutral nurseries
Very girly, cute, and pink baby girl nursery!
Quentin was born 12 weeks premature and had a 100 day stay in the NICU so I had lots of time to be at home preparing for our boy to come home and get a little bit creative!
We worked very hard to create a warm, cozy room for our baby girl. I knew we would like to incorporate pinks and grey into her room, since they are very calming colors. We began with grey wall paint and worked from there. Our ideas soon just went from one to another, creating a perfect room for Ava Kate who is due in August!
I added pinks and blues that matched her toys to coordinate everything together.
I started the project knowing I wanted to use the black and cream Dalmatian print wallpaper as a backdrop; from there I added coral and gold with green palm accents. Nurseries are so fun because you can use themes and colors that are completely separate from the rest of your house!
For this sophisticated nursery, Liza chose a refined color palette of yellow, white and blue, and anchored the room with a diamond patterned, natural-colored wool carpet. She incorporated two eye-catching showpieces – for a touch of whimsy, hand-painted monkey-themed wallpaper accents one of the walls, and for a touch of elegance, a canopy made from yellow checkerboard fabric frames the crib. A traditional-style convertible crib and coordinating 5-drawer armoire complete the look.
Grey and yellow, owl theme nursery. We weren’t ready to pick out furniture that our daughter might want have in her room down the road, so we opted to create her nursery by updating existing furniture that we can covert to storage in time. The crib and changing station belonged to friends who were moving. We painted crib and bookcases white with no VOC paint. (This requires many coats! ;) )
I was so excited when we found out we were having a girl and I knew I wanted a vintage nursery for her. Almost every thing in her nursery was a DIY project except for the Jenny Lind crib. The main colors I chose were coral and gray and I wanted little teal and gold accents.
