This chic, pink and gold stripe nursery has a sophisticated look with a few metallic touches. The couple already had the mirrored chest they new they wanted to incorporate into the room. Gold stripes were added to the ceiling for the sweet baby to look up at. Simple, clean white bedding and window coverings complete the look.
My clients are a busy professional couple with a delightful toddler boy. He had been nestled in the landing below their third-floor bedroom, the space was cozy with just enough room for a crib and a chest of drawers. When Henry turned two they knew it was time for him to have a proper room or his own. The brief was for the room to be as much playroom as bedroom. We tried to utilzie the closet as much as possible for storage to allow more space in the room for toys and play. In terms of the aesthetics the mom had some great black and white photos she wanted to use but was otherwise very open to the color scheme.

The school year was quickly approaching and I needed to transform the room from her sister’s nursery into a proper big girl room in under 3 weeks. Eli’s nursery was decided to be nautical with an element of whimsy. His mom wanted him to be able to grow with the room.
I’ve decided to create a new bedroom for my girl and boy children.
We wanted a colorful, whimsical space with both modern and vintage pieces, clean lines as well as handmade elements. We painted the walls a dark navy blue to make the colors pop and to set off the warm rustic elements. In order for the design to last we refrained from making the room too “babyish”. We love the juxtaposition of the modern elements against the rustic and vintage pieces.
We wanted a mix of fun, modern, vintage, and funky! With twins on the way, we didn’t want to go overboard on costs, so we re used a lot of materials. Jenny Lind crib was the best purchase, bedding custom made on Etsy, and a chalkboard wall with signatures from family and friends!
It took us awhile but we finally finish our sons room! We finally purchased our first home when he was 7 months and 4 months later its finally complete. We love that it’s something he can grow with.
