Glam Camping Birthday

What better way to end summer and welcome the fall than with a glam camping party! In celebration of my niece’s 6th birthday we decided to throw a glam camping party for her and her friends. The girls had so much fun roasting marshmallows, hanging out in the tent we made and catching fireflies at dusk. The best part of this party….it can definitely be brought indoors in the cooler months! For the centerpiece of our table, I collected branches and spray painted them purple and placed them in a terra cotta pot we got for a few dollars at the craft store. At the ends of some of the branches I tied small strips of fabric we used throughout the party and stuck some mini marshmallows on the end. It made for a rustic feel, with a some glam thrown in :) For desserts we had vanilla cupcakes we topped with edible fondant toppers from Cakes and Kids, caramel popcorn was our “midnight snack” and Fun Favors supplied the most adorable cookies that coordinated perfectly with our theme. Some of them even had edible glitter on them! We also filled berry baskets for each girl, supplied by Party On! Designs, with graham crackers, marshmallows and Hershey’s chocolate bars for s’more making during the party. I Have A Favor supplied personalized canteens for all the girls. During the party they filled them with “spring water” and then took them home as a party favor. We also sent each girl home with a mini mason jar filled with “s’more’s for later”, a mix we created using mini marshmallows, M&M’s and golden grahams cereal. During the party the girls loved hanging out in the tent my dad actually built using pieces of lumber from the local hardware store. It was great as it was tall enough for the girls to even stand in! We draped two queen sized sheets that coordinated with our theme over the tent and secured the ends to the ground. We then placed a coordinating throw rug on the ground so the girls had a comfy place to sit while playing in the tent! The girls loved going glam while camping in the backyard. It’s a great theme for girls of all ages and was a great way to end the summer too!

Arctic Coco and Smores Holiday Party

This party was a perfect fit for a little girl with a love of all things penguin. It was a small get together for a few friends before the winter break. We did something small that would entertain and include some traditional holiday fun with a twist. The choice was obvious, a hot cocoa bar and smores yum. A few of the activities included letters to Santa, pin the nose of rudolph, face painting, and penguin bowling. We ended the day by making a visit to the hot coco bar where kids got the chance to choose from a number of wonderful topping: whipped cream, caramel, chocolate syrup, marshmallows, sprinkles, peppermint crumble, and chocolate chips. Instead of cookies or cake we chose to do smores. With a parents help everyone toasted their marshmallows and chose from chocolate, cinnamon, or honey graham crackers. To top things off they got to choose from cookies and cream or milk chocolate candy bars. Other items on the tables were peppermint pretzel sticks, smore marshmallows, chocolate dipped spoons. For favors there were take home smores kits, cocoa kits with mini marshmallows, chocolate Santa mustache pops, letters to Santa, personalized crayons with childs name on them, penguin cups and cuddly stuffed penguins. Since it was a Christmas party we thought it would be fun for all the kids to be Secret Santa’s for each other. We took photos of everyone saying shhh then printed them on tags that said, “Ho Ho Ho I’m your secret Santa.” Each guest was asked to wear red and white to get in the holiday spirit. As they arrived we had them sit down at the table and draw pictures of what they wanted for Christmas on placemats we printed out.
