Rubber Ducky 1st Birthday Party

My daughter’s favorite toy was her rubber ducky.  She used it to play with, toss about, and teeth on…  When planning her first birthday I wanted the party to be about her and her favorite things, so a rubber ducky party it was!  Everything was focused on keeping kids of all ages busy (adult bar and rubber duck pond for kids) and entertained. Decorations were focused on ‘Bubbles” – round lanterns, round balloons, round garland, and a bubble machine. If watching your pennies, the Dollar Tree was very helpful as well as borrowing the duck tubs from friends.  Also – use bubble bath for the bubble machines vs bubbles!!

Ruby’s World

Ruby’s World was my daughter’s 2nd birthday party. I I wanted to do an Elmo themed party for her without all the usual “sesame” stuff. I made the Elmo, Big Bird and Oscar from silk flowers and leaves. My favorite details were the fur and feathered covered cake stands I used on the dessert table and the drawing of the Sesame gang with Ruby. Other Elmo details: I served “Dorothy” sandwiches using Pepperidge Farm goldfish bread. We gave mini trash cans as favors filled with Sesame bath books, Elmo crayon cups, crayons, and Sesame Street story books.
