I wanted to create a space that felt warm and comforting but didn’t scream baby. Even though we were planning to find out the sex, my husband and I both knew from the get go we wanted to start with a gender neutral base and go from there.
We moved into a new home while I was 26 weeks pregnant. I knew instantly this room would be our daughter’s nursery. I loved the natural light flooding in. It was pumpkin orange when we moved in and we quickly painted it a soft pale pink. I wanted a calm peaceful space and a room our daughter go grow with.I have since added curtains and the wall above the crib is reserved for her newborn pictures (yet to be taken).
Connor’s nursery is bright and colorful room, filled with an eclectic mix of animal details and DIY projects. It focuses on our love of animals, books, crafts and color.

We wanted to create a simple nursery that was a mix of modern and traditional elements. We used some flea market finds, a few DIY elements and some elbow grease !

We turned our sitting room into the nursery. We knew we wanted our baby as close to us as possible and on the same floor, so we ended up redoing our sitting room to become our new nursery. We utilized every inch of the space for storage and functionality. Our base colors are cream, brown, and yellow with a pop of raspberry pink. All the wall decor was handmade by daddy to be and me. The changing table was repurporsed and I used wall decals to add more excitement to the piece. This is a nursery made to honor Gloria’s namesake: my grandmother. The blue, pink, and yellow theme looked FUN, calming, and perfect, just like my Tata.

You may recall our last one here, which created quite the buzz here, on Project Nursery. It is all about focusing on the small spaces trend – creating a wow factor in a small space with big things. Our canvas is a blank 10 x 8 room which we created for 2 sisters.
To turn this into a little nursery was not easy..the room is tiny, NY style :) But I must say I love the way it turned out and it has been a fantastic little haven for my little boy, now 2!
In anticipation of his baby sister’s moving into the nursery, we created a big-boy bedroom for my son. Some of the items moved with him from the nursery; others were thrifted; others were purchased new and one iconic feature, a reverse-stenciled dresser, was DIYed.
I needed to create a serene and calm space for the 2 girls. The house is decorated very traditional so I was going for decor that will blend in with the rest of the home. The room wasn’t too big either.
Unique combinations of colors and textures have come together to engage a 7 year old girl to come in and delight in brightness and charm fitting her personality. Her room is rich in not only color but texture and activity. From a luxurious bed to a cozy niche, a dressing area to a play zone, this design will continue to thrive along with her occupant!
The client desired a room that the girls could share and grow into.
I needed to design a space for Josh, a 7 year old boy. The mother wanted the space to be somewhat transitional. The colors should work well with more than one theme, and he should feel great in there when he is 7 as well as when he’s 13. Josh wanted lots of photos of past events on the wall.
I was so excited when I found out I was pregnant! I couldn’t wait to start the Nursery. When we found out we were having a girl… I knew exactly what I wanted. Something she can grow into!
